DAYS LATER IN CARTER FOREST

peter went walking through carter forest,"hello!" he'd been looking for the girl with extrodinary gifts that saved his father many years earlier. "hello! is anyone there?"

clara dropped out of the trees and in front of peter, "hello Peter. What can i help you with?" peter sat there speechless for a moment then said, "my fathers gone. you saved his life once. Can you do it again?" clara nodded her head.

peter said, "what will it cost?"

"the rules are simple. one life for another."

"i will, all i ask is to see my little sister walk down the isle. all i ask for is the time long enough to see that then i'll come willingly."

clara nodded her head, "i can do that. Peter, you are a very brave young man. may the gods watch over your soul." peter nodded his head, "thank you midgard guardian." clara placed her hand on peters shoulder. within seconds peter and steve were standing on the top of avengers tower.

steve looked at his son, "you didnt."

"you made her a promise. i' just helpping you keep it."

"peter i lived to the ripe age of 110. you just turned 29. you have your whole life ahead of you. why?"

peter looked at his father and smiled. "i wasn't going to tell you this, but turns out my spider bite had a pretty narly twist. she needs you papa, they both do. i get to watch my sister walk down the isle and marry her best friend. i dont expect you to understand."

steve walked over to peter and wrapped his arms around him, "thats what brothers are for. i didnt get to buy you your first drink, so how about i buy you your last?" steve wrapped his arm around his sons shoulders. the two then proceeded to leave while peter said, "i'd like that. i would like that a lot. thank you papa." peters sad smiled turned in to a happy one. he only had a few days left and wanted to make the most of it.

once inside the tower the two made there way down to tony's lab to call tony. steve stayed out of the way of the camera. chloe, bucky and the soldiers could be see on the couch when tony answered the call.

"hey pete. how are things at the tower?"

peter nodded his head, "things are good. i have a suprise for the bride to be, but i dont want to spoil anything.

chloe walked into focus, "you've already given me the world," she smiled, "are you going to give me the moon too?" the two laughed. peter smiled then said, "this gift is much better than the moon. hurry home, and you'll see. bring amanda and the others."

chloe smiled, "we're leaving right now. i'll see you in a few hours."

peter nodded his head then cut the call. when it was all clear he looked at his father, "how about we scare them a bit?" steve laughed, "what did you have in mind pete?" peter smiled, "first, i'd like that drink. then we come back and have jarvis help us out."

jarvis spoke, i do not find this entertaining."

steve and peter laughed. peter said as the two were headed to the elevator, "dont let my father access the survalence or anything in the tower. say i locked him out or something." peter and steved left.

--- Bar ---

peter and steve just left the bar.

peter said, "thanks papa." steve smiled, "i wish there was more i could do for you." peter turned to his dad, "papa, dont worry about me. you didn't worry when i set off to be a hero like you. dont worry now."

the two headed back to the tower.

--- Avengers tower ---

Steve and peter sat on the couch watching television. they'd given up scaring tony and the others. Peter was to drunk to want to try so he gave up.

tony, chloe, james, amanda and the other soldiers walked out of the elevator and were met by peter.

"so pete," chloe smiled, "whats this better than the moon wedding gift?"

peter yelled out, "you can come out now!"steve got up from the couch and walked over. everyone was speechless, "congratulations Chloe." amanda walked to the front of the croud, "how? i watched you get shot. i watched you fall." peter and steve smiled at each other before steve said, "thats a secret i can't share."

peter smiled again, "we ordered pizza. i'm going to go pick it up." amanda looked at peter, "mind if i come?" peter said, "no," then the two left.

tony pulled steve to the side, "how?" steve looked down, "the deal was a life for a life."

"whos life?" steve didnt answer right away, "whos life!?" steve looked up, "he told me he was dying. that he only had a couple months left. he told me that he was helping me keep a promise to his sister." tonys eyes got wide, "no. why? this isnt fair."

steve pulled tony into his arms and held him as he cried.

--- PIZZA PLACE ---

amanda said, "Peter you truely gave your sister the moon."

peter looked down, "i'm dying anyway. i was going to giver the moon and stars, but all i can do is give her the moon."

the two stood in the pizza line quiet for amoment till amanda looked at peter, "you've given up so much peter. you're one brave kid, you know that?" peter gave her a small smile before she continued, "is there anyone special in your life?"

peter looked at amanda, "no, not anymore anyway. She passed away a while back while you and my father were on tour." amanda looked down as peter continued, "this way i get to see her again," peter smiled as the two got to the register to pay for the pizzas they ordered.

BACK AT AVENGERS TOWER
20 MINUTES LATER
---

peter and amanda walked onto the floor. peter went and set the pizza down on the table. when he was done steve and tony pulled peter to another room.

"what' wrong?"

"wrong?" tony got mad, "why didnt you tell me about the bites effects on your body?"

peter looked at steve, "why?"

steve said, "i'm sorry peter, i know you didnt want to say anything to them, but i had to." peter looked down for a moment to think about what he was going to say then looked up to tony, "i'm sorry, but i only had a couple months anyway. i had jarvis run every test out there, and nothing. I couldn't go to SHIELD, because i knew they'd tell you."

"it's not to late," said tony.

peter smiled, "it is. you'll see me again," tears fell from tony's eyes, "dad, i know you dont understand. I know this is going to hurt, but you dont need me anymore. you dont need me here to look out for you. atleast, atleast i get to go be with gwen again." tony pulled his son into his arms, "how long do we have?"

"till the day after her wedding. That's the only time she'd agree to."

tony looked puzzeled, "who is she?"

steve interupted, "she called herself the Midgard Guardian. She's saved my life all those years ago when i went to the mission in carter forest."

tony said, "oh," then the three went and joined the others after tony stopped crying.
