introvert assignments

The first day of school.

The day Yugyeom hates the most. Well, technically Yugyeom hates everyday.

The feeling of loneliness in his home are quite familiar even if he was staying with his parents before. At least it became better, without the pressures and all those insults.

"Gyeom-ah!  Hurry up or else we're leaving without you!"

"Gyeom-ah, try not to eat too much."

"Gyeom-ah, we're going out."

Yugyeom's parents always leave the house without him. He knows that he usually says no to going out but they should've asked him first, it hurts him. 

He laid out his uniform on his comfy bed and went to take a bath first.

The first day of high school after autumn breaks doesn't really excites him. Since middle school, he doesn't really social much, leaving him no friends.

The first day at new school should be just fine and no problem, right?  Yugyeom thought, but he just had a feeling that its not gonna be a good day.

// Daegu Science High School //

A science high school. One of Yugyeom's dream is getting into his dream school. As much as he loved dancing, science is also his strongest passion. It just amaze him how science work in life. He did know how hard it is in a science high school as an average student, but he doesn't mind going through all of that for science.

The first day seems to go well. He met few students who are definitely known as science suckers, but systems explains it all well.

"Good morning student, how was your autumn break? Was it good?"

"Good!"

"Alright, we have a new student from Seoul, he just got transferred here. Welcome your new friend, Kim Yugyeom."

Yugyeom enter the class and he felt slightly uncomfortable with all eyes shot at him. "Hi, my name is Kim Yugyeom, nice to meet you." He bows to his classmate.

"Class monitor, please make sure your new friend knows the way around here. I'll see you later, have a nice day!"

As soon as the teacher left, Yugyeom excuses himself and tail the teacher. 

Ji-Woo sit down and jumped a little when she saw Yugyeom. "Yes? Do you need help?"

Yugyeom for sure did said something, but his voice were too small and low. "Can you speak up? I can't really hear you."

"Uh, can I be excused from partner projects or assignments?"

Ji-Woo looks at her file. "I'm sorry, what's your name again?"

"Yugyeom. Kim Yugyeom. Class 1-2"

"Ah, Yugyeom. Take a seat, might share with me why you don't wanna do partner projects?"

Yugyeom just look at his hands and play with it. "I'm not fond of any situation where it requires me to social."

"Yugyeom-ssi, if you're brave enough to tell me that you want to withdraw from partner projects, you should be brave enough to social a little for a project." The teacher smiled. "Do you have any problems in the past that makes you don't want to get into any social situation?"

"No, not really. Its just hard for me to socialize." Yugyeom bit his lower lips, feeling a little nervous.

Ji-Woo just smiled at her new student. "Maybe you can practice with your parents? Or anyone?"

"I'm an only child and I moved out from my parents house since I'm always alone."

She was a taken aback, but quickly gathered herself afterwards. "Its alright," her eyes darted at a student nearby. "Jinyoung-ssi, come here for a bit."

"Yes madam, do you need anything?"

"No, not really. Now, Kim Yugyeom, this is Park Jinyoung, he's like, two grades above you. Jinyoung, this is Kim Yugyeom. He's a freshmen."

Jinyoung just smiled at Yugyeom, who is smiling awkwardly at him. "Jinyoung, you're the class monitor for class 3-1, right?"

"Yeah, that's right. I'm always the class monitor everytime you become the homeroom teacher."

They just laughed but Yugyeom didn't react to it. "Would you mind helping Yugyeom from class 1-2 to learn about socials? I can promise you that our Jinyoung here is a good student."

"Nice to meet you Yugyeom, wanna round the school with me?"

Yugyeom was a bit speechless, not knowing what to reply. "Its alright, a school is a place where you learn not just theories, but also about yourself." Ji-Woo smiled before Yugyeom stand up and left the teacher's lounge with Jinyoung.

"So, you're not a social-kind-of person?" Jinyoung asked. Yugyeom just nodded. "Do you have any friends yet? Maybe in your class?"

Yugyeom shook his head. Jinyoung didn't know what to say afterwards, leaving him a little bit awkward. "You wanna have lunch with me and my friends?"

"I'll- I'll think about it." He smiled awkwardly. "Wah, you finally speak up! That's a good progress. I'll see you at lunch then!" Jinyoung smiled and waved him off, leaving to his class.

His first day at school wasn't as bad as he thought.
