~Chapter Twenty-Five~

Really rushed In the beginning but gets better.

(Noah's P.O.V)

        I found myself spending my lunches near the library, wishing Eric would magically appear or I could at least catch a glance of him but I didn't. Was he not coming to school at all? Was something wrong?

      After we texted each other, Eric has been sending me texts that either asked me If I needed anything or goodnight texts. Yesterday, I texted him that we meet up and talk. Eric said he couldn't. I considered texting Sadie but I ended up not doing It.

       Dustin and I got Into a fight. He asked me why I was avoiding him and I ended up yelling at him about kissing me in front of Eric and other people who now had more of a reason to ignore me. After he yelled at me about how stupid my reason for being angry at him, he told me we should spend some time apart.

         Another couple of days has passed. I haven't slept properly, did any of my school or even been on the computer. My break with Dustin occurred In my head a few times but the thoughts of Eric ended up overpowering It. I just couldn't concentrate on anything. I needed to see Eric. 

          It was Wednesday after school, I saw Sadie and I gathered the courage to ask her where Eric was. She told me that he got a fever a couple of days ago. Concern washed over me and I asked her If I could see him. She told me maybe and that I'll have to wait for the next day to get the answer so she could talk to Eric and see.

            On Thursday after school, she told me that I could see him but only tomorrow so he'll have another day to recover a bit before someone sees him. She told me that she'll pick me up and take him to his place.She said that he was at his own place because he didn't want her or her family to get sick as well.

(Next day Friday)

   No school day should feel this long.Even this morning felt like six hours long. I somehow managed to wake up around 6 AM and literally spent each second waiting to go to school. This had never happened before so I guess I was that eager to see Eric after school. In class, my eyes were glued to the clock and barely left It until the dismissal bell rang. I perfectly knew that actually doing the work and paying attention In class made time go faster but I was too restless to even do anything. All I wanted to do was to get out of class.

    Words could not describe how happy I felt when the dismissal bell rang. I did a mental back flip and rushed to the back doors of the school where the guardian picked up their kids. I look around, searching for Sadie. A few moments passed before I saw her walking with the same brunette he saw her talking to before. Sadie saw, pointed at me, whispering Into her ear, then they started giggling.

   My face burned with embarrassment. What were they talking about? Since she looked and pointed at me, It was obvious they were talking about me but about what? Was It about Dustin kissing me In front of everyone In the halls? When was that going to end? I was hoping It was going to be soon but things like that didn't die down for years or maybe they didn't die down at all.

    I looked away quickly and when I looked back at them, they were hugging but It wasn't a typically friend hug. It was extremely passionate, as If they'd never see each other again. Sadie cupped the brunnette's cheeks as she smiled then she let go, waving as they parted.

   Sadie skipped towards me with a big grin. She said "hi" to me while I nodded mustering up a smile for her. If her and her friend were talking about me, It couldn't have been bad. I didn't know Sadie for long but I knew she was sweet and bubbly person. Her smiles, especially this one, was genuinely friendly.
