Jayda
Sunday afternoon
"Jayda can you put them rolls in the oven?" My granny yelled from upstairs.
"Yes."
Grandma Kathy picked Marcus, China and myself up for church this morning since my mom had to work until 6 and my dad got called in for an emergency surgery early this morning. The only thing about having both parents in the medical/hospital field they always had to work. My granny is like a second mom since she basically raised me and Marcus. My mom got pregnant at 16 with me and left me with my grandmother when she went off to school and even when she had Marcus we stayed with my granny most of the time. I'm not mad because my parents provide for us and doing what they love.
China: Ask granny to put me a plate up and I'll come get it once Cierra get back. 2:05pm
China had to leave after church to watch her sisters kids due to some type of emergency.
"Marcus come help set the table up and go wash your hands too." Granny said walking downstairs. "You will see my car in the driveway when you get here... yes just call me when you get on my street." She spoke into the phone.
"Granny who coming over here?" I asked after seeing she hung the phone up. I really hope it's not one of her church friends because they annoying and always trying throw shade at somebody.
"Remember I told you about the new lady I hired at the daycare, she's coming over with her son. I'm thinking about letting her manage that location."
"Didn't she just start working there a few months ago?" I watched as my grandma took the foil off her baked Mac and cheese making my mouth water.
"Yes you sound like your mom... but she has a lot of experience and I trust her to run it. I'm too busy to manage all 3 of my daycare locations."
I shrugged watching her finish cooking. My granny started a daycare before I was even born right in her home and eventually it grew now she has 3 different locations. She's a good judge of character when it comes to her business so I didn't question it.
"Get the door for me Jayda." My granny asked.
I sigh walking to the living room to open the front door. A pretty light skin lady stood holding a cake.
"Joyce come on in!" My granny yelled from the kitchen.
"Hey... my son is coming he's grabbing some bags out the trunk." I nodded moving out the way so she could get in.
I instantly frowned once I seen who was walking up to the front door. Why is this boy so fine?
"Wassup Jayda." Maurice smiled wrapping his free arm around my waist. I hugged him back taking in his fresh scent. He always smell so good. "I didn't know you was going to be here I would of really got dressed." He laughed making me smack my lips.
