Misunderstood

Chapter 17

Jayda

"Jayda you ready?" David yelled loud enough so I could hear him from downstairs.

"Yes." I responded looking at the time on my phone. It was already 10am but I was sleepy from staying on the phone with Maurice all night. I grabbed my purse and meet David downstairs.

"I'm driving the truck, you need anything before we leave?" He asked before locking the door when I shook my head no.

I finally checked my phone as I settled in my seat for the long ride to the airport.

Maurice 🌍❤️🥵: Goodmorning Baby ❤️ 7:30am

He was always up early as hell because of basketball.

Jayda: Goodmorning honey 😘 10:13am

After texting him back I drifted off into a quick nap.

"Jayda wake up." David tapped me after he parked the car. It was now 11:30, it took so long to get places with Atlanta traffic especially the airport. "Her flight won't land until 12 but I didn't want to be late."

"That's fine." I said while checking my phone.

Maurice🌍❤️🥵: have fun meeting yo sister. I'll call you later I'm at the court. 10:17am

Jayda: We just made it to the airport. I was sleep but I'll let you know when I get back. 11:35am

"I want you to meet Maurice whenever your free." I said while we walked through the airport to where we could wait for her.

"Yo boyfriend right? Yeah I definitely want to meet him. See who my daughter always on the phone with." He laughed making me smile.

After about 30 minutes my sister flight landed and I got nervous for some reason. We waited by the luggage pickup area and it took about 10 minutes for her to meet up with us. I watched as she hugged our dad tightly. She's so pretty, we had some similarities but we didn't really look alike she favored David a lot though.

Walking towards me , him & Leah smiled and I smiled back with a slight wave .

"Well Jayda this is your little sister Leah , and Leah this is your big sister Jayda", my dad said with a chatty smirk on his face .

I decided to break the awkward silence and introduce myself since I'm older .

"Hey boo I'm 17 how old are you ?"

"15, omg your so pretty." Leah smiled before giving me a hug.

"Your pretty too."

"I'm glad I have both of y'all with me." My dad said before hugging us tightly.

In the car trying we talked a lot just getting to know each other. Leah is only in the 10th grade and the only child on her momma side. We have a lot in common, we both like R & B we like makeup & watching YouTube. She does majorette at her school in Cali and she's also a honor roll student. I wish we didn't just meet today but I was still happy to have a sister as well.

"IHOP?" David asked pulling into the parking lot.

We both said yeah and he parked his truck.

"This yo boyfriend?" Leah asked looking on Instagram while I sat on her bed with her.

"Yeah that's my baby." I smiled seeing his fine ass face.

"He cute sis... I see you." She smiled looking at me.

"Speaking of him." I said seeing that he was FaceTiming me. "Baby." He said before I could speak.
