Adrien pov

Ladybug stooped next to me doubled over clutching her chest, this akuma was intense and we were both winded, we were currently hiding behind a chimney to catch our breaths. We had yet to figure out where the akuma was hidden, and without an idea this battle was stretching into dangerous territory.

"Do you think it might be in her hair clip, its the only thing that seems to stick out to me." I tapped my sharpened nails against the rooftop as I kept an eye out for the bad guy.

"Maybe, but we need to figure it out fast, we both know that our disguises won't last much longer."

She stood back up and threw up her yoyo calling out 'lucky charm' before jumping back into the fray, what we were going to do with a can of hairspray I could only imagine what ideas my creative partner had in mind. I followed suit, extending the staff to vault over the buildings that stood between us and "Mrs. curls".

I knew what a bad hair day could do to a person but I never thought it was something to lose my head over. I did what I always did and kept the villain distracted while Ladybug snuck up from behind to get the akuma, while I wore the cat miraculous and should've been good at stealth I wasn't lucky like Ladybug. She used the hairspray to glue the hands of Curly to her dress immobilizing her ability to shoot her beams that gave everyone crazy unkempt hair and slipped the hair comb out from her hair and snapped it in half, releasing the little black and purple butterfly into the sky. Immediately the disguise of "Mrs. Curls" wore off revealing a middle aged woman wearing a black cape like the ones in a salon designed to keep the trimmed hair off your clothes. Ladybug caught the akuma with her yoyo and set free a fresh white butterfly, which promptly drifted up into the sky away from the mess we made, throwing up the tin can to set everything back to the way it was before the attack. I watched her patiently, mentally weighing my question on each paw, I had promised myself this morning that I would ask her today, but I wasn't so sure I could handle another rejection. I was trying to get my racing heart under control, when she started off down the street I realized this would be the last chance before our disguises wore off.

"Ladybug, I know we're going to detransform soon, but before I go, I want to ask you something."

"What is it Chat?"

"I know you keep turning down my advances but would you mind going out with me for a friendly evening dinner? We can hang out and talk."

"Chat what are your plans?"

"Only to sweep you off your feet bugaboo." I hoped she would say yes, I wanted her to see that I was serious in my affections for her, which is why I had put this whole evening together. She would arrive at the rooftop overlooking the eiffel tower, candles lit all around, a delicious dinner for two... friends.

"Okay Chat, why not." She booped the tip of my nose with her pointer finger before slinging off into the distance. I hadn't genuinely expected her to agree, but she had, we were really going to do this.

What was she planning?

Marinette's pov

"Alright Marinette, you're finally going to give Chat Noir a chance!" Tikki spun in front of me, clearly she was more excited about this than I was.

"Sort of, I'm still wary if his feelings are genuine and I figured tonight could be a way to test that theory." I rested my head on my crossed forearms gazing at my wall of adrien pictures, part of me felt like I was betraying him but the other side of me knew that unless I could get over my nerves when I was with him that it'd be going nowhere.

"Tikki I need some advice." The little red kwami landed on the desk next to me ready to help in any way she could.

"I know how I feel about Adrien but what's really the likelihood of us actually dating? I mean he's made multiple comments that he thinks of me as a friend and that he's interested in someone else, not that that should be that unusual, I mean he's got a huge fan following. I just want to know where I stand." The last time I had agreed to go to dinner with Chat Noir it had been to confess I had feelings for someone else but my adoration of Adrien couldn't even get past a few words. It was so easy to talk to Chat, he was silly at times but I never felt stressed around him, I was able to relax and speak my mind clearly. I sighed.
