We sat on the roof of a building and looked down upon the city of Paris, it was a crisp night and the wind was near silent. It was our usual night patrol so we watched the sleeping patrons home safe in their beds, we kept them safe from an akuma that might flit over the night sky. My partner dangled his feet over the side of the building and he fiddled with the silver buckle from his tail. He was unusually quiet that evening, he had not once tried to flirt with me or cracked a single pun. Instead we sat there for hours in silence, unnerving silence. I was hesitant to interrupt this silence, a silence that frightened me. I reached out my hand and let it settle on Chat's shoulder, he jerked at my sudden touch, he must be in deep thought tonight and that's why he had been so quiet.

"Chat is everything okay?"

"Fine." He looked up to the stars and the full moon high in the sky, away in a far away place once more. "You know we've been partners for a while now, but I feel like we hardly know each other."

"We can't know each other's identities, you know its too dangerous." He sighed and leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees, it was hard to admit, but I wanted to know who he was under that mask too. I wanted to feel a personal connection to him besides his behavior that I already knew, he was kind, confident, honest, dedicated, heroic, and passionate.

"Chat?"

"Yeah Bugaboo?" I chuckled at the old nickname, he hadn't called me that in a while and I had missed the teasing tone he used when calling me that.

"What's your favorite color? I know that's a silly question but its the easiest to ask and it isn't terribly personal." He laughed and turned his head to look at me, those emerald green eyes were hypnotic to look into.

"Orange. Yours?"

"Blue, like my eyes. Favorite food?"

"There's this bakery that makes the best chocolate chip cookies, I go crazy for them," He laughed and then turned turned his entire body towards me. "What about you?"

"Freshly made bread, with a little bit of strawberry jam." I thought to myself for a little bit and then asked another question. "Do you like movies?"

"Some, I'm a huge reader but I like action adventure movies, I like the suspense. What about you, do you read or watch movies more?"

"I'm a sucker for movies, but I like the theatre more, live performance is just so much nicer, you can connect with the actors better." He looked at me and I swear I saw a little flash of light pass over his eyes, he came closer to me and whispered just loudly enough for me to hear him.

"I know I bug you but this coming weekend Mayor Bourgeois is having a movie in the park and I would really like it if you came with me, it doesn't have to be a date. I'm just tired of being on my own for everything. Please will you come?"

"I'd love to go catch a movie with you, like a date." I looked up through my hair and looked at his stunned face, he hadn't been expecting me to suggest it as a date, I was shocked myself. I did like him, I spent so much time with him it would be hard for me to not like him. I could talk to him in ways I couldn't communicate with Adrien, Chat was always there for me and the people of Paris. He had been pursuing me for so long and I was finally ready to open up and risk getting my heart broke, I kept thinking about now that I had gave into his infatuation he wouldn't want me anymore because there was no longer a chase.

"You're saying this would be a date?" He was watching me intently as if trying to decide if this was all a crazy dream, he was watching me the way I had always wanted Adrien to look at me.

"Yeah. An actual date. We'll need to be in our suits in order to keep our identities a secret."

"Of course. Wow I can't believe this is actually happening, I've waited so long for this to finally happen." I gave him a smile and he gave me a brighter one back. He leaned in and almost kissed me, I stopped his lips with my hand and giggled.

"Don't get too far ahead of yourself silly kitty." He laughed and leaned back to his own space where he watched me, a smirk playing on his lips. He reached out and took my hand in his clawed glove and placed a feather of a kiss on my knuckles, a few butterflies stirred in my stomach.

"I'll see you for our date then."

"Yeah I guess I will." With that he expanded his staff and vaulted off into the night.
