"Ok, Ok. How about something that is pink and lives on a farm?"
Pig!" Jess shouts.
"Aww come on!" I whine.
"It was a little too easy, Abby. At least try." She teases.
"Fine. Let's see" I think for a sec. " I got one. What is red-"
We hear the door close before I can finish. Jess looks at me, I stay still for a while to listen and slowly stand up. I gesture to Jess to stay put.
"Why didn't you close the door?" Mrs. White comes into the view with a sour look on her face. "Did you guys go somewhere?"
"No, we didn't. We've been here all day" I quickly say.
"Then why was the door open?" She insists.
"We forgot." Jess tries to help.
"Jess, Dear could you let Abby and I chat for a moment." Jess looks at me then as Mrs. White and walks to our shared room.
Once, Jess closes the door, she turns to me. "What is this?"
She pulls out an envelope. I look at it carefully.
"I don't know." I glance around.
"So, I'm supposed to believe that?" She presses.
"It's a university in Carolina," I admit. "I filled it out because of school-"
"Next time, don't you even dare. You're not going to this school."
"What if I want to-" I protest.
"If you want to? And with what money?" She asks.
"It doesn't matter. This is my choice. You don't have the right to decide whether I go or not."
Her eyes widen with anger. She slaps me across the face. "Who do you think you are? Who puts a roof over your head? Uh? I took you in when no one else did. You're not going. Just remember Without me your nothing."

"Woah, who dumped you?" Taylor dramatically says. A few classmates turn around and chuckle at the comment.
Luke looks at me and drags Taylor to sit, "Hey, man let's just sit."
My face is very paled. I didn't get any sleep last night. I couldn't stop thing about the fact, I may not ever be able to live my life. The English teacher comes in and starts class, but a few minutes later, she is called to the principal's office, "Alright, class be back in a min."
Once the teacher leaves the room almost instantly the class moves around and starts chatting. I reach into my bag and take out a book, start doing some paper for my government class. I still can't believe I didn't get that done. I'm going to have to talk with the teac-. A crumbed piece of paper lands on my book, I pause and stare at it.
I hear Taylor and his buddies snicking "Sorry, didn't see you there."
Another guy says, "if you would be so kind and pass that back," he tries and impersonates a British accent.
I hesitate in what to do with it, but I decide to slide it off the table with my forearm and let it drop on the floor.
"Did you not like that? I have another one," they continue to use a British accent and throw another crumbled piece of paper. I don't look up; I just look at my book and read.
Someone reaches out and takes my book, "what do we have here?" I still don't look up. I don't know what to do nor what to say. I want my book back but don't know what to say.
"Hey, stop just give it back to her," a guy tries to help.
"Why? She seems to like it, she not saying a word," someone bumps my back playfully.
"Right? Tell him you like it."
I still dare not to look up, "Come on man, just give it back." I don't know who is helping nor do I actually care, I just don't know how to handle the situation. The guy with my book acts defensively, "Lay back man, I'm just messing around. What are you her boyfriend?"
Instead of putting a stop, I end up shriveling up and looking at the floor. The person with my book drops it on the floor, someone else picks it up. I try to bravely look up but I see a hand holding it out. Out of instinct, I push and slap the person holding my book, "Leave me alone."
I take it quickly but pause when I realize that the person that was handling my book back was Taylor. Embarrassed, I sit back in my seat.
"You're welcome," Taylor sarcastically remarks.
"You took it in the first place don't act too righteous," I rebuke. I turn around and see Luke's gaze falls on me. I turn and look back at my book.
"A thank you would be nice."
One of Taylor's friends throws more crumbled paper on me. I don't understand why they are even throwing paper at me, what did I do. I wasn't even talking to them in the first place. After class ends, I try and hurry out of the class. I accidentally drop my book as Taylor stands in my way.
"Here," Taylor picks it up and hands me my book. Luke approaches. I am feeling very intense and lose it. I snatch my book and push him aside.
"Stay away from me."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I walk out of class and head to the gym. My head aches and my eyes aren't making it any better. As I walk, I cough, I start to feel numb, I keep dragging myself, my breath gets heavier. I keep walking. air. I lose feeling in my legs; my hands go numb. I can't catch my breath. My head feels dizzy. I see someone approaching.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I start to try and open my eyes, but the lights are very bright. My head feels very heavy. I turn my head to skim the room to see where I'm at.
"How are you feeling?" The nurse sits on the bed next to me.
"A little tired," I answer holding my forehead with my hand. "Would you like to go home and rest, you've had a long day? you seemed to be very stressed," she hands me my things.
"Um... no I'm fine, I'll go back to class," I don't want to go home, I don't feel at ease there, even when Mrs. white is not home.
