My surroundings look like ruins, where time didn't pass by. All I can see is sand and rock mountains.
"Not what you expected, Princess?"
"It seems like nobody has been here in centuries."
"Time doesn't work in hell the same way it does on earth. Here everything is still."
"So, when are we?"
"I would say, 700 B.C."
"I need to find Caesar's Cup."
"We need to travel in time to 100 B.C. then."
"Okay, let's do it then." I came closer to Caliban and grab his arms with my tinny hands. He smiles at me and I'm confused.
"As much as I like you all over me, Princess, it doesn't work that way here." He smirks and I blush.
"Oh, don't gloat youself." I roll my eyes and walk away from him.
"Where the hell is that freaking stone?!" I'm already snorting for the intensive walk I've been with to find the damn stone.
"It should be near here somewhere." Caliban says.
"I don't have time to waste looking for that damn stone! Roz is in trouble, and she needs my help and here I am-"
"Look, Princess." He interrupts me.
The stone hasn't as bigger as I thought, that's why it took us so much time to find it.
"What now?" I ask
"Now we summon the spell writing on the back." I roll me eyes, and he puts an hand on the stone, and I do the same. Caliban mumbles the words and a windstorm form near to us. I close my eyes and when I open them again it seems that we are at the exact same place.
"It didn't work!" I whine.
"Look again, Princess." He smiles.
While the views look the same, some elements are different.
"There!" I point.
In the middle of some type of a temple, I see a silver cup. "That should be it!" I smile and run towards it.
"Wait! Serena!" Caliban calls me out, but I keep running. Not even a minute later the ground beneath me disappears and I fell in a hole. What was I expecting?
They throw me to a cage, and Caliban to the one next to me.
"I tried to tell you. Nothing is ever that simple."
"Oh, shut up, for a second I believe that it could be."
"We are in Hell, Princess. It's made for torture us." He smirks.
"What now?"
"Now you will pay for trespassing the city of Rome." I presume that the solder in front of me is the one and only Julius Caesar. "One of you will take hundred lashes." The man smiles maliciously. "You can choose."
"I will take the lashes." Caliban says.
"What? No! Why would you do it?"
"You're the Queen of Hell. I will not have you debased in such a way. Besides, you're too cute for scars." He smiles at me one last time before he's taking away.
"Caliban!" I scream his name as he disappears. No, this shouldn't be happening. It's all my fault, he wouldn't be here if it wasn't for me.
When they pull me out of my cage, I'm taken to a sort of stage, where I see Caliban on his knees. When the guard let's me go I run towards the blonde boy.
"Caliban!" I drop to my knees, next to him. "Caliban!" I call him again.
"I'm okay, Princess." His head is low, with his blonde hair hiding his pain. His face is sweaty, and his back is full of marks.
"Let him go!" I beg to Caesar. "I'll take the rest of the punishment." The leader laughs at my request.
"The final punishment is dead by decapitation." He smirks.
I close my eyes and let my mind wonder. I hear a call, deep down. You know what to do. The voice whispers.
Before I do what it tells me I come closer to Caliban.
"I'm sorry for this." His eyes meet mine and he's about to tell me something, but I don't let him. I seal my lips with his and returns the kiss in seconds.
"I don't want you to kiss me for pity, Princess." He says softly.
"Is not pity."
I let myself out of control and let the voice control my will as it wishes. My eyes turn white and I break the cuffs. In a second I fell myself levitate.
"You dare to give order to the Queen of Hell?" My voice is not mine, I'm no longer at control. "Fool. You will pay with your life!"
In a hand gesture a circle of fire takes everything and everyone with him, leaving only myself, Caliban and the cup in the middle.
I take my control back and I drop in the ground. I run towards Caliban again and free him from the cuffs.
"Are you okay?" I ask him, while he stands up.
"I'm okay, Princess. What was a that?" He asks, confuses.
"I- I'll explain later." I grab his hand and the cup, and he teletransport us away from that hell hole.
