"So, what do you have to offer me, my lady?" The angel asks.
"What do you wish?" I lift my eyebrow, intrigued.
"You are Queen of Hell. I mean, not right now because of the Morningstar's matter, but once it is fixed, I must obtain something for our agreement." He speaks carefully, contemplating all his words.
"Cut the chase, what do you want, Gabriel?" I go right to the point.
"You are one of a kind, aren't you, Serena Morningstar?" He smirks, making me roll my eyes. This angel is getting on my nerves with all of his games. "Fine, I have a proposition. I want us to unite the kingdom of Hell and Heaven. I want Hell to be command by the right leader." He pauses. "You, Serena Morningstar."
"Okay... So we are in tune."
"But you can't lead Hell alone, you've proven that you can't protect the realms alone."
"I'm more that capable to-"
"If that was true you wouldn't ask for someone else help, my Queen. But that's not important now: align with me, and make me your king, and I will help you." I almost chock.
"Hell already has a king. King Caliban." I state.
"A demon-clay-king? Please, my lady, don't make me laugh. That was clearly a lap of judgment. With me by your side you would rule Hell and have a voice in the Court of Heaven, making you the most powerful Queen ever born." I can see Caliban ready to smash Gabriel's face.
"Let me be clear: There's only one man fitted to be king as long as I shall reign: King Caliban." Caliban's face changes from despite to a proud smile.
"So, I hope you like seeing your reign ruined by Lucifer. Have fun, my lady." He smiles and disappears in a light.
I'm going to need another plan. Fast.
"That was brave. And thank you, for defending my honor." Caliban kisses my hand.
"We are husband and wife, I will always have your back." I smile at him, making him smile too. "And angel or not, that guy was an ass." Caliban laughs at my statement. "I had no idea angels could be so vain."
"I told you, Princess, worse that demons." He smirks at me.
"I didn't know there could be someone vainer that you." I tease him and he bits his bottom lip.
"Keep teasing me like that, and I will show you how much you do appreciate vanity."
"Is that a promise, Caliban?"
"Maybe." He makes puppy eyes at me. "If you want it to be."
"Maybe." I smile and walk away from him.
The next day was based on training with Sabrina, Nick and Ambrose, all the spells I could learn as fast as humanly possible. After the theoretical class, I went to practice with Nick.
"Remember, it's a duel and Lucifer won't show mercy. Not even at his daughter." Nick says and I nod my head.
"I'm ready, bring it on, Scratch." He chanted a spell and a black lightning comes at my direction, making me dodge as fast as I could, so I would get thrown in the air. "You okay?" I nod and he tries to hit me with another one. Failed by mere inches. "Focus, Serena." He warns me.
I join my finger and chant a dark spell, taught by my dark side. It doesn't even come close to Nick, but it incinerates a three in seconds.
"If you fail like this tomorrow, we are all dead." He warns me.
"I know that! You don't think I haven't thought about that?! It all depends on me. A newbie in witchcraft and somehow Queen of hell." I say.
"So get your game together, Serena. You won't stand a change being that soft."
"Oh you want to see soft?" I levitate my body and my eyes turn pure white. I clap my hands and a dark wave throws Nicholas into the forest. I return to control and run to find him.
"That was cool." He says, when I find him lying on the ground, full of scratches from the trees.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you that bad."
"No. No. It's ok. That was what I wanted, to you to let go control and fight me. That was pretty good to be honest." He laughs and I help him rise. "I'm go need a break." He smiles and I take him inside the house.
When Nick is already inside, Caliban walks towards me.
"What a weak baby." He laughs at Nick.
"Oh. Do you want to try, big guy?" I challenge him.
"Is that a challenge, Princess?"
"Yes, it is. Get ready, Caliban." I guide him to the middle of the field. Leaving distance between us. "Whenever you are ready."
"I don't want to hurt you, love."
"Oh, you won't." I smirk at him.
"Are you sure about this?" Caliban asks.
"Let's go."
He chants a spell and a fire ball appears in his hand. He throws at me, but I block it with a fire shield. He smiles at me and runs a hand through his hair. He prepares to attack again but before that and I see him postponing so he can analyze me. Caliban finally chants the spell and the ground beneath me turns to sand and swallows me.
I shout some words and the sand transform into mud, and I free myself. I rise some tree branches and almost hit him, unintentionally.
"That was good, Princess. You should rest now." He leaves in a firestorm before I could argue.
He didn't even put a fight.
