Caliban, Prince of Hell

Capítulo 25

Later that day, I feel completely drown for my energy, so I decide to go to Sabrina's bathroom and take a shower. I fill the bathtub and lay down myself there.

Every time I close my eyes, I can only hear Lucifer's words about Caliban betraying me, and Caliban begging me for forgiveness. There was so much pain, and I felt like being swollen by the void.

I put my head under the water and try to forget all this hurt and all this concern.

A few seconds later I feel my entire body being yanked from the bathtub and someone picking me up. I was on my knees on the floor.

"Serena! Serena!" I open my eyes and see Caliban kneeling in front of me. "What were you doing? You could have drowned!" His face looks terrified.

"Caliban?" I ask, confuse. I didn't realize how much time I spent under water.

"I can't see you like this anymore; I will do anything to take your pain away." He says. "Hurt me as much as you desire, punish me. I can't see you hurting yourself, its torturing me. So here. Take this." He handles me a dagger. "Torture me if it pleases you."

"Caliban..." I'm looking at this fragile part of him I've never seen before, and is not an act, he's actually suffering for what he did to me. "I don't want to hurt you. I just need some time to figure things out, to figure us out. I don't know if I can trust you again."

"I will beg for your forgiveness until the end of times, and I will try to compensate you for as long as I breath. I promise you that, Serena." He stands up and kiss my hand and only leaves the bathroom after I assured him I was okay and I wasn't going back to the tub.

Seeing Caliban in pain hurt me, but remember how he lied to me, hurt more. Would I ever be able to trust him again?

After I dress myself and start to get ready to go downstairs, I stop in the middle of the way when I see Dorcas approaching Caliban. I stay quiet and listen to their conversation.

"It's a pleasure to meet the King of Hell. I'm Dorcas." She bows and he shrugs his eyebrows. "I wanted to show my appreciate for the new Dark Lord." She puts her hand in his chest. What a bitch.

"Not interested." Caliban says, rudely and steps away from Dorcas, but she blocks his way.

"I thought demons weren't monogamous." She flicks her hair. "I can make it worth your time. I'm very open mind." She starts unbuttoning her shirt and I'm ready to slap that bitch out.

"There's only one woman good enough for me, and you are not her." He smiles sarcastically leaving Dorcas with her mouth opened as he walked away, and leaving a little smile on my face.

Dorcas was beautiful, and since in Hell there wasn't almost no women, I never really thought about Caliban being draw to some other girl, until I saw Dorcas making her way towards my boyfriend, all available, especially now that me and Caliban weren't on the best terms. But he was faithful to me, even now.

I was in the garden of the Spellman's house when a firestorm appears in front of me. My first instinct is to stand back but then I see Lilith. Not who I was expecting.

"Lilith." I say, harshly.

"I had a hunch you would not be happy for seeing me." She flicks her hair.

"Not since you betrayed me. After everything."

"I did not betray you Serena, I fought for my survival." I roll my eyes.

"I trusted you. I looked up to you, I thought you were better than that. You don't need to hide in my father shadow anymore."

"No? And who would protect me against him? You, Serena? I had to submit to him, or he would kill me for betraying him."

"You were queen once, if you had honor you would rather die that live along him."

"That's a child ideal, not a ruler's one."

"So now what? You came to take me back to hell? To be Lucifer's slave?"

"No, Serena. Despite all, I do care for you, so I came to warn you. Lucifer will spare your friends and your dear Greendale if you come back to hell and rule by his side, as his heir."

"Why does he want me by his side at all?"

"Some weird family tradition on ruling together."

"I won't do it. I won't sit alongside of him and let him destroy everything that I changed on Hell. I'm the Queen now, Lucifer's reign is over, and I will fight for my throne."

"You are a Morningstar, through and through." She says. "And it will be your doom." Lilith disappears in the fire.

Am I being selfish for not giving up the throne and putting my friends in risk? Am I doing the right thing?
