(Present Day - April 25, 2019)

Today was draft day, and I was so excited for a new football season to start. A new season was a clean slate for everyone; the players, the coaches, and everyone else in the NFL organization.

After college I immediately got a job as a conditioning coach for the Seattle Seahawks, while also managing a side career in modeling. I've been working with Pete Carroll for four years now, and it's been an amazing ride.

He's always so flexible with me and understanding with my hectic modeling schedule on top of my coaching position.

I'm proud to say that I've worked my way up and earned the title as the top fitness coach in the NFL, all while balancing a second career. This was such a big deal and honestly meant a lot to me since I'm a woman working in a man's sport.

Ever since I was a little girl it was my dream to work in fitness with professional athletes, being on top was just a bonus. Now after four years of blood, sweat, and tears I can finally say that I made it.

Today I spent most of my day on the couch in my small apartment watching the draft on TV. Normally I would be with Pete helping him decide on new picks for the upcoming season, but this year he decided to let me have the day off. Which I thought seemed odd, but I didn't ask questions.

The Seahawks drafted a total of nine new players overall this season. Our new players weren't terrible, not what I would have chosen, but not terrible.

Suddenly my phone started to ring from the other room. I jumped up off the couch and ran into the kitchen to grab my phone that was sitting on the kitchen counter.

"Hello?" I asked in a rather cheerful voice.

"Hello, is this Camila Harris?" The man asked me curiously. I furrowed my brow before speaking again.

"Yes.. may I ask who's calling?" I asked the mysterious man with a hint of confusion in my voice.

"This is Kyle Shanahan, I'm the head coach-" but before he could finish his sentence I did so for him.

"For the 49ers! I know who you are." I said happily, but then confusion washed over my face yet again before I spoke. "Why are you calling me?" I asked Shanahan full of confusion.

"Listen Camila.. I don't know if you know this yet or not, but Pete has made arrangements for your replacement." Shanahan informed me before continuing. "But the good news is that you already have a new job offer! Right here in the San Francisco Bay area if you want it, what do you say? I'm willing to offer you triple the pay plus added bonuses. I can't pass up the chance to add an amazing asset to our team such as yourself." Shanahan pitched to me happily.

My face and mind went completely blank. How could Pete just replace me without hesitation or warning after four years? I was the best in the fucking league for christ sake.
