Omg I didn't realize I haven't posted in forever 🤦‍♀️ I'm so sorry! I completely lost track of time. ^^;

Tanjiro shot up from his spot after a while of Nezuko staring at him wondering when he'll wake up, causing a small scream to erupt from my throat in surprise. "Huh?" he looked around at our other group members holding his wrist while trying to piece the puzzle pieces together. "Y/n! Wh-what happened?"

"Beats me... well, I think I know what happened..." I paused for a moment to gather my words. "I felt another demon on board a while ago but I wasn't sure and next thing I know everyone is asleep with no way to wake them... So I could only assume the demon I sensed is up to this... The people with the ropes are trying to get into our dreams and... I think... destroy our consciousness. But that's all I've got..." Tanjiro blinked at me with his mouth agape.

"Umm, I think you got it all y/n..." He turned to Nezuko quickly. "Nezuko! Burned those ropes!"

As Tanjiro said she did exactly that, burning the ropes in hopes our friends would wake up, but... to no avail. Tanjiro thanked Nezuko anyway, giving her a pat on the head while stared off into space trying to figure out how to wake them up. Both of us not seeing the girl with braided hair come dashing up behind Tanjiro with an ice pick in hand at the ready to stab him.

Luckily Tanjiro was able to see her coming just in time to move out of the way. "Don't interfere! Because of you! He won't let us dream!!" Tanjiro backed away from the girl, a bead of sweat beginning to gather on his temple while a cautiously backed towards him, avoid the crazed eyes people. I noticed one frail pale figure of a boy standing behind the mass of people, tear bubbling out of his eyes. "What are you doing!? If you're awake, help out!!" The same girl with the braids shouted at the boy barely able to keep himself up straight. "I don't know about you tuberculosis or whatever, but if you don't do your job I'll tell him so he doesn't let you dream!"

I felt realization strike me like a lightning bolt strikes a lonely tree. The demon is using these people's weaknesses for his own gain! Letting them'dream' all their problems away... if only it was that easy. I guess that's what these people thought once too.

"Sorry, We have to go." I didn't even get the chance to blink before all the people surrounding us had suddenly collapsed onto the ground unconscious. All except for the frail boy.

By this point, I'm not surprised by demon hunters anymore. I think I've been surprised enough already. "You all want to be happy in your dreams, right?" Tanjiro said. "I understand, I wanted to stay happy in mine too." He spoke towards the boy. I nodded placing my hand on his shoulder, and in a soft voice, I didn't even know I could manage.

"We all have our downs, but if there's a down that means there's an up to. I'm sure you'll get your up one day..."

The boy stared at us, his dull eyes shaping into a crest as a small delicate smile formed onto his face. "Thank you..." He weakly called out. "And be careful..." Tanjiro beamed at him, his eyes sparkling like fireworks on a warm summer night.

"You got it!" He shouted before dashing off towards the front of the train car slamming the door open and sticking his head out to get a whiff of the extremely strong and disgusting smell the air was producing. Nezuko and I followed after him, watching him through the train window as he lifted himself onto the top of the train. "Y/n! Help Nezuko wake the others!"

"!?" I felt my stomach sink. "You're... You're going to fight him yourself!? Tanjiro, he's a demon moon! I can feel it from here! You can't go alone!" I shouted already making my way out the door to follow him.

"No! Stay!" He pushed his hand out in front of him, halting me in climbing the side of the train.

...I'm-... I'm not a dog.

"I know I can't do it by myself, but I can hold him off! That's why I need you to wake up Kyojuro and Kadzuki! So please! Help Nezuko!" And just like that, he dashed off towards the engine if the train. It was at that moment I realized... how useless everyone actually saw me.

I knew people pitied me because all I ever did for a few days was cry. But... was I just a... Just extra baggage? I don't know why I'm surprised... I mean... Makes sense doesn't it? I haven't done anything but slow everyone down...

I felt myself audibly gasp at my thoughts.

Stop it, y/n! You said you wouldn't do this anymore! If your useless now find a way to be helpful! "Alright, Nezuko! Let's wake the others! Quickly!" I pointed to the drolling a snoring group of people I travel with." I heard a mumbled mmph! Followed by some small footsteps.

I had an idea to try and wake the others up. I remember when the twins would get up early in the morning and a winter morning, they would be so terribly bored. So they would dance their way outside to gather some fresh icy cold snow before dashing back in putting a small packed cube on the back or side of my neck. Always resulting in me to jolt awake in a shock. And well... with my newfound ability why not give it a try? I know Nezuko would use her... fire... how concerning that is. She's going to be setting my friends on fire... fun. How... lit.

I looked at the two fiery-haired siblings, swallowing any doubts or worries I had leftover in the back of my mind. I shakingly cupped my hand at the base of Kyojuro's neck. The heat coming from him traveled up my arm. I could feel a bulging vein in his neck and I had to swallow a large ball of mucus.

I exhaled a steady breath and soon felt the warmth sink away from and was replaced with a shocking cold. My s/c hand turning a pale shade of blue. Kyojuro's tan skin soon following in color. I felt the muscles in his neck twitch before his fiery eyes flew open followed by a rather loud gasp. Our eyes met and held each other's gaze for a few seconds. "Y/n!" I jumped when he shouted my name with a rather large grin. "What's with that look? Something happen?"

"I-... I uh... T-tanjiro is fighting a demon moon on the top of the train!"

"Hm! Yes, I know!" Right when he said that is when I noticed the disgusting fleshy limp tentacle things coming from the walls and floor.

Did... did Tanjiro lose already? I felt my heart sink thinking of the worse possible outcome.

"This entire train is the demon in fact!"

"Why are you still smiling!"

The train shook violently causing me to fall backward, away from Kyojuro and instead fell into Kadzuki's lap. My hand falling her exposed collarbone. I let my hand linger for the frosty effect. Not long after I saw her blond eyelash flutter open, revealing the golden orbs hidden by her eyelids and look at me.

I felt a hand grip my own and pull me up off Kadzuki with a strong tug. I yelped when I crashed into a hard chest. "There is no time for lingering y/n! There is a demon present!" That when I could see Zenitsu and Nezuko fighting off the fleshy limps. Inosuke had already taken off.

"R-right..." I mumbled.
