___Peter's POV___

I woke up to the sound of Mr. Gardner banging on my bedroom door, "Get up!" He shouts.

I stand as quickly as possible, but squat down once I realize the room's spinning. After I recollect my brain off the floor, I hustle out of my 'bedroom' and hurry to go brush my teeth and shower. It takes me a speedy 10 minutes to do so, then afterwards I dart downstairs to the kitchen. "Hey, guys." I smile warmly at the other 4 foster kids sitting at the table. Giving Jamie's hair a scruff, I maneuver my way around the chairs and over to the kitchen. That Eddie kid never seems to show up for breakfast. Smart guy.

I pop 4 pieces of toast into the toaster and start on making 4 platters of eggs. While I cook, my mind gets lost in school—Certain kids at school recently applied for an internship at Stark Industries and we find out who got accepted today. It's kind of spontaneous because we find out today, and it also starts today. I guess that's the thing about Tony Stark, right? Not a man to waste any time.

I flip the eggs and toast onto 4 separate plates and set them out for the kids to eat, moving quick to wash the dishes and pans I had used in the process.

I know it's risky to apply for an internship at, like, the superhero HUB of New York when you're trying to keep a secret superhero identity, but this internship could mean my future! It was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

Once I finish cleaning, I send a quick goodbye to the kids as they finish eating. I snag my backpack, stuff a few granola bars inside, and head straight for the door. They know to wash their plates and put them back in the cupboard. I'd do it for them, but then I wouldn't ever make it to school on time.

My stomach is screaming at me in hunger, demanding I eat something, anything. So, I pull out my small stash of granola bars and mow down, my stomach thanking me after I've engulfed the food.

As I'm making my way to school, I come across a crosswalk. I pause in thought, What would happen if I did get the internship? Would I have to cut out some patrolling time to do it? Am I able to do that? Once the crosswalk light turns green, I make my way out onto the street. I mean, would I ever be in contact with Tony Stark? If I would, then would he figure out my secret?

—Now you see, this is where we experience the pleasantries of New York City drivers—

The hood of a car barrels into me, sending me rolling across their roof and smacking into the asphalt with a deafening crack.

I heave for air as I feel parts of my ribcage have kind of sunken into themselves. "Oh, god..." I hear the voice of the driver as he steps out of his car. As I look up, I notice how a crowd starts to form.

Oh my god.

It's Tony Stark.

It feels like I've just been ran over for a second time.

Tony seems to notice the attention that's been drawn, and it's when flashes of cameras start to appear that he pulls me into the passenger seat of his car.

"Uh—" Tony starts, watching me with uncertainty from the drivers seat. His eyes are as wide as saucers. "Is this kidnapping?"

We just sit there. Staring at each other.

More camera flashes appear outside of the car and Tony seems to take that as his cue to peel out of the street and into the traffic. "This is definitely kidnapping. Shit..." Tony curses in aggravation. "I ran over a kid! I have run over an actual child."
