7k!!!!
I didn't edit this as heavily since it's a little more chill, so I'm sorry if I missed some things!
okay it's 1:20 AM and I just finished watching the amazing Spiderman so let's rock and roll people
_______We'd all been kinds of chillin for about a week after the incident. You know, when I almost threw myself off a building? God, it terrifies me to even think about now. What on earth was I thinking?
Tony had Eddie and I skip that following Thursday, but we did go to school that Friday. Oddly enough, everything went great. No flash, hung out with my friends, my friends actually got to meet Eddie! I enjoyed that day. Every day since the incident, I realize how stupid I was to even consider the thought of throwing myself off that building. Because if I had actually done it, then I wouldn't be here spending time with my family and saving the world one small step at a time. Life is valuable. You only get one.
I think it was just the fact that Tony was going to make me end Spiderman that really tipped me off the edge. It terrified me. If I can't help others, then what else was I born to do? Why else be alive?
So, it was Monday morning and Eddie and I were getting ready to take off for school. "We're heading out, Tony!" We call out to Tony as we dart from our bedrooms to the elevator.
"Hold up." Tony shouts back with a snap of his fingers. He points at us accusingly, "Breakfast?"
We both look at each other. I have no excuse, but has anyone told Tony about Eddie's situation yet? "I'm not hungry." I spin around with an innocent smile, my thumbs looped in my backpack straps.
"I can't eat." Eddie tries to wave it off as if it were nothing and goes to step into the elevator.
"HOLD UP." Tony repeats, alarmed. Eddie winces and pivots on his heel to face Tony. "You don't eat?"
"Well, not, like, regular people food. Venom only lets me eat meat." Eddie grimaces.
Tony looks like he was just struck by one of Thor's thunderbolts. "Only meat? Some detail? Cooked, or...?"
"Rare." Eddie stares at the floor with eyes lost in dreaded thought. "Practically raw."
Tony squirms around of grossed-outedness (did you mean 'disgust', Peter?). "So what am I supposed to feed you?" Tony raises his eyebrows at Eddie.
"You don't have to feed me anything!" Eddie places his palms out to stop him. "I can take care of myself." He reassures our new dad with a smile.
"UHh, eXcuSe mE—" Tony places a finger in the air to stop my brother. I snort at the response. "As legal guardian, it is my duty to feed you. I read it in the adoption papers." He sticks his nose up and acts all high and mighty for having actually read the papers. "I will go to the store and buy...raw meat." He pauses, thinks, then, "Today." Tony looks totally grossed out. I can't tell if he's grossed out by the fact that Eddie eats raw meat or that he has to go to the store.
"Thanks, Tony." Eddie gives Tony a warm smile, regardless of how blatantly Tony doesn't want to do this. He isn't rude about it at all, it's just funny to see Tony's response. "We better head out." Eddie turns back to the elevator.
"Hey!" Tony stops us. "Happy's gonna pick you boys up after school today."
"Okay!" I reply excitedly. Happy picked us up on Friday. Despite his name, he actually does not come across as very happy. (wow, peter, genius observation)
"Thanks, Tony!" We call out. Just as the doors start to close, I see Tony make a TOTAL >:( face through the crack of the shutting doors and the next thing I know, a granola bar flies right through the open sliver and smacks me square in the forehead.
