What does any straight guy do after having a sexual encounter with a guy and liked it? He does any and everything to forget it, but it was impossible. Kellen had never been kissed like that, and had never been so turned on. The memory of that encounter with Les shook him to his very core. Every time he closed his eyes, he'd think of the omega straddling him, the sounds he made, how his lips tasted, how soft his ass was when he squeezed it. He needed a distraction. He found one, in Stacy.
It had been more than a week since what happen in his office. He had to leave the house that day because if he would have stuck around, he would have f*ucked the omega three ways to Sunday. Leslie's heat coupled with the full moon was a dangerous combination.
He couldn't face his Luna. He took the coward's way out. He knew being intimate with Stacy would hurt his chosen but he wanted to forget so badly, it made him desperate. When he finally made it back home to apologize, all that was left was a note.
Kellen, words can't describe how sorry I am about what happened in your office. I can't say that it was all because of my heat and the full moon. Truth is, I've had feelings for you since we were teenagers. I let that cloud my judgement. I'm so sorry. Please forgive my actions. Just as my actions may have upset you, did you really have to sleep with another? It hurt, Kellen. You know what that does to me. With that being said, I need some space to regroup. I'm going to check into the Grand Rio Hotel for a few days. I will contact you when I'm ready to talk. I've also prepared meals for you in the freezer. There should be a weeks worth.
See you soon, Les.
After reading the letter Les wrote, guilt washed over him. How could he not know that Les had a crush on him? He couldn't imagine how him sleeping with others made his omega feel. The guilt began to eat at him, it was overpowering. Not only that, Thad had gone silent. His wolf had been depressed being away from his mate.
He realizing Les had a crush on him made Kellen feel awful, but couldn't deny that he was still attracted to women. The night of the encounter, he did something he shouldn't have. He called Stacy and the she-wolf had no problem distracting him. If he was gay, he wouldn't have been able to sleep with her right? So why was he so turned on by his omega. Kellen was more confused than ever.
He didn't try to contact his omega because he needed time as well so he threw himself into pack business as a distraction. He took meeting after meeting. Still, his thoughts always drifted back to Leslie. It was beginning to eat at him and the longer his Luna was away, the more irritable he got. Training had been gruesome.
Sparring had left some of his warriors with broken ribs. He felt horrible about it but he knew that the healing abilities that wolves had, they'd be better within a couple of hours. He wouldn't have noticed his antics, if James hadn't said anything.
"Kellen, what's up man? You've been easily irritated lately? What gives.. and don't give me that sh*t that nothing is wrong. We have known each other since we were kids. I know something is wrong."
Kellen sighed. "That bad, huh?"
"Yeah man, our warriors are dropping like flies. So talk to me. What's going on."
Kellen knew that the beta wouldn't stop until he got answers. Not being able to hold back any longer, the alpha told his inquisitive beta part of the story.
"Your brother and I are in a fight."
"Why, what did you do?"
Without giving the whole story, Kellen gave him bits and pieces of the truth.
"It's just that we are in a disagreement about something. You know how these things are. He wants one thing, and to be honest, I'm not sure about what I want. It led to me to doing something incredible foolish. Now he's staying at the Grand Rio."
"Whatever it is, you two will fix it. The worse thing you can do is not talk things out. Letting things fester has never helped anyone." The beta explained. "Besides, you two love each other."
That was the point. The Alpha was confused about his feelings for Les, but there's no way he could tell his brother that. Last thing he wanted was a fight with his beta.
"He said he'd contact me when he's ready to talk. It's been a week. Maybe he wants to leave me."
Kellen's chest felt heavy as he spoke the words. The thought of Les leaving made him ill.
"Do whatever it takes to fix this, Kellen. Go to him. Les is the most forgiving person I know. You two are lucky to have found each other."
The beta dropped his head and continued.
"You have no idea how much I envy you. I'm 22 and still haven't found my mate. Don't throw it away over something stupid."
"You're going to find your mate, James. Don't lose hope. Look at your parents."
Kellen placed his hand on his beta's shoulder and spoke with the need to comfort. He knew how lonely James was.
"They were both 24 when they found each other."
James sighed. "I know that, but still, the waiting is hard. But enough about me. Man up, and go apologize. Don't let it linger."
James was right. Les was a forgiving person. Maybe he should go to him Kellen thought. That moment Kellen found new wind. He'd fix things. No matter what it took.
A plan formed in the Alpha's head. He'd been selfish long enough. He was going to make sure that Leslie got everything he deserved.
"Thanks James, you're the best, man. I know just what to do. I'm going to make things right with your brother." He gave his beta a hug then bolted toward his truck. He was going to see his Luna.
"Make sure you take a shower first, Kellen. You reek!" The beta yelled. "You don't want him to faint. You smell like you haven't showered in a week."
The Alpha playfully growled at the insult. He did need a shower. If he was going to face his chosen, he needed to look and smell his best.
The thought of seeing his mate even made Thad stir. He felt the presence of his wolf after a week of the silent treatment. "Don't you dare screw this up, Kellen. I need my mate." After the brief words, Thad went silent again.
"I won't Thad, I'm going to bring our Luna home."
After he got in his Ford Ranger, he called and made reservations at Les' favorite French restaurant.
