Chapter Eighteen

After several sessions of intense lovemaking, Les showered and went to start breakfast. He could barely move because of the ache in his lower back. However, it was a welcomed ache. Kellen was an insatiable lover. He didn't hold back, not once. He didn't get to talk more about Bryan to Kellen before things got heated. He decided he would cross that bridge when it got there. He did need to ask Leo some questions though. Maybe he could shed some light as to what was happening.

Leo was basically quiet during he and Kellen's encounter. He wanted to know why, only breaking through once to encourage him to not let that morning wood go to waste. Les giggled at the thought.

"Leo, why so quiet? I thought you'd try to push through more. We've been wanting this for a long time."

Leo had one thing on his mind, Lynx. He soon would have to explain a painful past to his host. After  having a second chance mate, he never thought he'd encounter Lynx again. He hadn't realize until the shared kiss between Les and Bryan. It must have opened their connection. He should have figured it out by the stories Kellen told them about Bryan. Also, by the way he acted at Maurice's should have been a clue. He was always arrogant, looks like nothing's changed.

Lynx would be coming to claim his Luna. He would hate for Les to be caught off guard when he showed up. It was already daunting enough for the omega knowing that they were somehow mates. There was no use in prolonging the matter.

"Les, there's something I need to discuss with you, it's about you and Bryan."

"Good, I wanted to ask you about that. How the fuck is Bryan my mate when Kellen and I are already mated?"

"Before the rebirth, over 2000 Lunar years ago, I had two mates. Lynx, Bryan's wolf was my mate. That is until he was killed in a rogue attack. At the time, I was carrying pups." Leo was in agony thinking about the loss. Les could hear it in his explanation.

"I begged Lynx not to go, but he was always conceited and felt he could handle three rogues. He had done it before. When he got there, he engaged in battle. Other rogues come out of nowhere and attacked. I felt him slipping away, Les. I tried to save
him by bringing the pack warriors, but it was too late."

Leo took a deep breath and continued. "The stress from losing my mate was too much to bare. I lost our pups." He whispered.

Les gasped holding his chest. With tears in his eyes, the omega whispered, "I'm so sorry Leo."

"It took a long time for me to get over losing my mate and my pups. We were having twins. Eventually, I started to recover, but it wasn't until I met Thaddeus that I was able to heal. Seria had blessed me with another mate."

"Why didn't you say anything, Leo. I was blindsided and confused when Bryan kissed me and I felt sparks."

"I hadn't realized until the kiss that he was my first mate. Seria must have blocked everything regarding Lynx. I only ever felt a connection to Thaddeus. Now that the link has been open, all my feelings for Lynx have reopened. I'm just as confused as you, Les."

"He knows we are mates. I have to tell Kellen before he shows up."

Leo understood what Les was saying and agreed. If Bryan showed up to lay claim to him, it could end in a massacre. This made the omega anxious.

By the time the Luna and his wolf were done talking, Kellen came walking down the stairs, noticing a smoked filled kitchen. He immediately became concerned. He knew something was wrong because Les rarely burned anything. He could feel Les' distress.

"You're burning the bacon." He ran over to the stove, taking the pan off the fire. He noticed tears in his omega's eyes as he placed the pan filled with bacon in the sink. He walked door and opened it to let out some of the smoke, not taking his eyes off his Luna.

Les stood there in silence wondering how he was going to explain everything to his Alpha.

"We may as well get this over with, Les. If you want, I can explain everything. Let me take over for you." Leo didn't want to put everything on Les' shoulder. After all, this had to do with his past life.

"No I'll do it," The omega communicated inwardly to his wolf. He didn't want to put Leo through his explanation for a second time. He could tell how much this hurt his wolf.

Kellen walked over to his Luna after clearing out all the smoke.
He took Les in his arms and held him close. "Baby, talk to me." He spoke softly.

Breathing in his Alpha's sent calmed him a bit. He sighed and resolved to tell him everything.

"Kellen, I have to tell you something. It's about Bryan."

Hearing Raven's Claw Alpha's name had Kellen on edge. He hoped that Les wasn't going to tell him he desired to be with him. After all, they had agreed on a open relationship. A relationship that he now found himself regretting. He never knew giving in fully to his mate could be so beautiful. Making love to Les was the most wonderful experience of his life. He would fight to the death to keep the man by his side.

However, Kellen knew that Les could at anytime be claimed by an Alpha that wanted more. He needed to make this right before that happened, but first he needed to take care of his mate. Kellen tried to ease the smaller man's worries.

"You can tell me anything, Les. I can tell whatever this is has you uneasy."

The omega removed himself from his Alpha's arms and walked into the sitting room, ready to reveal all.
