Stacy- Beta of Raven's Claw

"About time you made it over." Stacy spoke with contempt. She hated Maurice's. But her Alpha loved French food. He would find any reason to visit the place. She much rather grabbed a burger and fries at Outback's.

"What kept you?" The beta ranted on. You know much I hate this place."

"Bryan"

"Bryan," she said while snapping her fingers. "Earth to Bryan"

Bryan was lost in thought. He was thinking of the pretty little omega that accompanied Kellen. How could that man be so lucky. He'd never understand Seria. Why would she pair Kellen of all people with male and not him. Kellen wasn't even gay. He couldn't stop the envy that ran through him. Kellen's Luna was gorgeous. The things he would do to that omega if he wasn't mated to that uptight Alessandro.

"Bryan" the beta called out with a raised voice to the distracted alpha.

"Yeah, damn. You don't have to yell, I'm right here Stacy."

"Right, you're here but your mind isn't. What took you so long?"

They were sitting in the back of the restaurant, making it hard to see the front. It was a little more private. They didn't need ears listening when it came to pack business. Stacy hadn't realized that Kellen and his Luna was there as well until the alpha filled her in.

"Oh, yeah, I ran into Kellen and his mate." He said while pressing the kiosk to alert the waiter that they were ready to order.

"You did?" Stacy began looking around the place trying to spot the two.

"They are sitting on the far right. Looks like they were in an intimate conversation when I arrived. I didn't know he was mated to a man. How did he get so lucky?" The alpha sighed.

Stacy knew that look. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out her Alpha was crushing hard for the Luna.

Stacy knew the truth about Kellen and Leslie's relationship, but not wanting to break her word with the Alpha, she kept quiet. If she were to divulge the information it would upset Kellen. She was starting to fall for the man but knew she'd had to keep quiet if she wanted their trysts to continue. She would take Kellen in any way she could. Last week when he called her was a surprise. She thought what they had was a one off. Kellen was honest with her and told her that he would never leave his mate but he couldn't stop his attraction to women. She was more than happy to help him with that.

Stacy understood his dilemma. She also knew without a Luna packs failed. She was born beta but she was also Bryan's rejected mate. If she hadn't taken the role of Beta, Bryan's pack would have suffered.

No one knew the arrangement she and Bryan worked out. It took the pack awhile to get over Bryan rejecting his mate because of gender. All the pack knew is their Alpha rejected their Luna. Packs didn't make it long without the presence of a Luna. A Luna was like glue that held them together.

Raven's Claw never figured out why their inner wolves were at piece without a Luna. When Bryan rejected Stacy, it hurt at first. But she wouldn't force the man to be with her. She didn't want to live like that. Once she got over the initial pain, and because of her beta bloodline, she made a full recovery. Before she could leave the pack, Bryan approached her with a solution.

Bryan's idea was a shock to her. When he suggested taking on the role as beta, she thought her brother would have been his first choice. But when he explained it to her, it made sense. Because Stacy was Ravens Claw's beta, and if she was ever blessed with a second mate, said mate would most likely have to move into their pack. He'd still have the Luna's presence to calm his pack members. Stacy thought it was genius. Also, being around each other, kept their wolves content.

Stacy was suddenly brought out her thoughts by the alpha.

"Now who's lost in thought."

"I've been talking to you for five minutes. Where did you go?"

"Nowhere, just thinking back to our arrangement."

"Oh, that.. what made you think of that? You're not having second thoughts are you, it's been two years, Stacy."

"No, nothing like that. I'm grateful to be your beta. It's just sometimes it gets a bit lonely."

Bryan cared for Stacy. Sometimes he came off as a self-absorbed asshat, but Stacy had a spot in his heart. He'll always protect her. He was forever grateful to her for the sacrifice she made for him.

"You should get out there, Stacy. You're a wonderful girl. Any guy would be lucky to have you."

Stacy sighed thinking about Kellen. If only Kellen felt that way. But Kellen was taken. She noticed Bryan eyeing the far right while he spoke to her. He was infatuated and only been around the Luna for a few minutes. Kellen refused to leave the omega, now her Alpha couldn't keep his eyes off him. She also noticed smitten look that Kellen was giving the man. That was a new development. When she met them, even though the omega almost attacked her, Kellen treated him as if he was a roommate or a sibling. Something changed between them. She just didn't know to what extent.

She couldn't help but wonder what made Leslie so great that the men in her life desired him. This made her feel quite jealous.

Before she could stop herself, words were flowing out of her mouth. "You know sometimes things aren't what they appear to be. I see you can't take your eyes off the omega. By the way his name is Leslie."

"Leslie, wait how do you know? Have you met him before? Why didn't you tell me Kellen had a male mate?"

"It didn't come up. I thought it was common knowledge" The beta said nonchalantly.

Without giving too much away, she gave the curious alpha bits and pieces of information. "Let's just say we've had run ins with each other. Don't let the look of demureness fool you, he's a feisty little thing."

Bryan raised a brow. He loved feisty. Stacy knew just what to say to peek her alpha's curiosity. She knew that Bryan would seek further details about their relationship. She wouldn't have to say a thing. Bryan was smart. It wouldn't take long for him to figure things out.

Pretending to be uninterested, she spoke... "Enough talk of Kellen and his mate. We have business to discuss and I'm starving."

Bryan didn't notice the look in Stacy's eyes as she said those words. The only thing on the man's mind was finding out more about Leslie, Luna of Wolf Creek.
