All for One, as I later learned to call him, lead me down a hall and into a vast room filled with all sorts of weapons, dummies, targets, books, and other treasures.

"You will be spending a lot of time down here over the next ten months, so I suggest you make yourself at home and keep it clean." I toed a gooey, unknown substance on the ground.

"We will start with simple weapons first. Grab that knife off of the ground there," All for One indicated a blade on the soil floor.

I handled it gingerly, having never held anything more dangerous than a kitchen knife, although those hurt when you cut yourself.

"When you attack someone, you have to consider two things; capture or kill. As a hero, you will more often want to capture, in which case you only injure. If this is the scenario you are faced with, you should either stab them in the stomach or cut their calves so that they can't run away easily. The Achilles tendon is also a good one to sever, but it leaves more damage on the victim." All for One attacked a dummy with his knife while he was explaining this. "In the case of a villain. I would say we focus more on the killing side, which is why we tend to be more thorough." I flinched, still not used to the idea of being a villain and hurting people. "If you are going for the kill, either stab the victim 1.5 cm to your right of the upper center of their chest like so or..." All for One faded into the shadows but continued explaining. "If you want to be really efficient, sneak up on your victim from behind and slit their throat while pointed their head down for minimal blood splatter." The dummy he had been using for the demonstration was officially very dead. I couldn't help but shake a little. I was glad this person wasn't my enemy. "All right, your turn to give it a shot. I'll be back in a bit to see your progress. Maybe then we can cover throwing and dismemberment techniques."

The second he left the room I fell to my knees trembling while holding the knife in front of me. What was I doing here? Why the hell did I ever agree to this? It was painfully clear that this wasn't meant for me; I doubted I would ever be mentally strong enough.

Of course, this brought about memories of Kacchan always calling me useless, the whole world looking down on me, and him. The hero I so looked up to, telling me my dream was impossible.

I forced myself to my feet. I could at least start with the capture techniques he taught me. Suddenly, my mind seemed to clear, and I charged the dummy, slashing its legs and stabbing its midsection. I was still shaking, but I had to focus on getting stronger so that I could prove everyone wrong.

All for One came back only after I had decimated several dummies in my hatred for the world. He praised me, and I felt so proud. It made me stronger.

As promised he taught me throwing and dismemberment techniques. It was hard to get the feel of dismembering a body from a dummy, but I quickly turned down All for One's offer of a live body. And a dead one. I wasn't ready for that yet.

I spent the rest of the day training with balanced knives, be it for cutting, slashing, throwing or stabbing. For the time being, they were the simplest to work with. I practiced with different grips and came to prefer the hammer grip for throwing. It would make it easier later on when I got to practice with double edge blades.

"Izuku," All for One returned. "That's enough for today. Take this and head back to your room. We shall resume again in the morning."

He handed me a bowl of food as well as a change of clothes. I scampered down the hallway to my room which was not hard to find and I was exhausted from the day's work. I gulped down the hearty stew, changed into my PJs, and lied awake in bed for a while, unable to sleep. Funny how that works. I was so tired but the second I was ready to sleep I couldn't. I made a mental note to bring a book from the training room with me next time and pondered what would become of me before finally entering the dream realm.
