When people say world is a small place, I used to laugh but now I understand why that is a fair statement. Probably every love story has a materialistic thing to bring the hero and heroine together and ours did have....only difference was it was not materialistic...it was filled with every emotion a person could have had.
Love stories like Romeo Juliet and Laila Majnu made a huge impact on people but our story was way different from theirs. With just few miles of distance between us, we found letters and post cards more comfortable than phone calls or dates in parks or theatres.
Back then letters to pen friends was trending and I also started to follow the crowd. I clearly remember the day I wrote a letter to an unknown address. Well, I found the address in a directory, fortunately or unfortunately the name of the person was erased.

Dosti ban jaate hai Duniya ke kisi mod pe
Saath chalte Duniya jeena Dosti hai

My first letter was just four lines...it was a small poem I had written. I posted it and waited for the response. At the back of my mind I knew the reply would come but I was restless. I did not know why I was so eager for this friendship...maybe because it was my first letter to my first pen friend.
