The hue of the sky matched the colour of my heart. I was happy...no more than happy to meet her. Naina, my Suman...my? Was she mine? Fear that she would reject me suddenly gripped me. But I was the hero of the college. What would make her reject me? But why was I bothered about her rejecting me...what was she to me? Just a friend....no more than a friend.
The click of door clicked me off my thoughts and immediately picked my comb. I had to get ready for her...why was I acting like a girl? Otherwise also she would surely fall for my Salman type looks after all she loves Prem...does she?
“Chal beta Sameer jaldi tyaar ho ja...par mein kya pehnu?” I was in total confusion...I wants do impress her...but why?
“Ladkiyon ki harkat kyu kar raha hai?” My mind questioned back.
“Black ya white...jacket pehnu ki nahi.” Why was I behaving as though I was going for a film shoot....she was not any actress anyway.
I finally decided to just wear a black t-shirt and a white jacket paired with white pants. I wanted to look like Salman after all.
On the way I realised I did not tell her the time for meeting. I accelerated my bike and reached college before the class time. Maybe she was waiting for me in the canteen.
But to my shock the canteen was completely filled. Where will I find her? She said she was a behenji type girl...I thought to look for someone like that.
By the time I searched half the canteen the class bell rang and the entire canteen emptied. Just like the sunset sending back birds home, the students too ran back to the class like the birds.I stood there dressed like Salman waiting for his Bhagyashree. Why was I so excited to meet her...what was she to me? Only my heart knew or the God knew.
I decided to wait for her, whole day in the canteen. The period was the most toughest time I guess...waiting for her. But how will I identify her? I had a feeling that she was also wanting to meet me so she will be the first one to come here. So I decided to meet the first girl coming to the canteen during the break
Unknown to me destiny was playing it’s games.
I was so excited that as soon as the bell rang I stood up and went to stand by the door. What would she consider this gesture of mine? Will she like it or will she think I was too desperate...but desperate for what?
The door opened before I could reach it and a girl came in running giggling unaware of anyone’s presence. She was the first girl who entered and the girl whom I was going to talk lot. But she was surely not a behenji.
Her flowing tresses complimented her pink flowing dress. Her petite figure was very evident in that dress. The curves added to her looks. She was indeed a beauty descended from heaven. Her eyes showed the sparkle...an excitement. What could that excitement be for? Her lips were curved into a wide smile as though she owned everything in the world or as of she got the best gift of her life. And tiny feet stuffed into her pink shoes ran toward my table...why was she running towards me? Probably she sat on this table every day and wanted to reserve it before anyone else could. A black thread was tied around her fair skin of her left ankle....to ward off evil.
I was getting drowning in the ocean of this girls beauty. It was intoxicating, there was no fragrance of flowers but there was the scent of her female odour.
I walked towards her taking tiny steps...taking one step in a minute but she seemed to be in a hurry.
“Swati mein jaake table pakadti hu...tu aa has.”
