The next morning Ava woke early. She hadn't gotten out at all and planned to go for a short walk. She collected water and a few snacks in a spare satchel Sophia kept, but as she walked out the door Sophia sat on the porch blocking her path.

"I'm sorry Ava, I know all you long for is the fresh air, and your freedom, but if you go out at this time we will be found, and it won't go smoothly," Sophia stated sadly, her eyes drooping.

"Are you alright Sophia?" Ava completely forgot about leaving as soon as she saw her state, she always seemed too put together, but this morning was different.

"I couldn't sleep... I have no way of warning my baby... they will be under attack in hours... but none of us can leave, it'll only be worse. I've gone over everything, sending messages gets us caught, everything does. So now I sit here and wait," She reverted to her normal self easily, her emotions pushed back. With her gift, it must be difficult when she can't change what she sees.

"I'm so sorry Sophia," Ava sighed, patting her back lightly and turning to go back inside.

"Is she okay?" Eugene said, dangling his legs over the side of the table, a small smile on his lips.

"You're alright," Ava sighed with relief, embracing him, "Also... I don't know... she is very worried about her daughter."

"Why? Where has she gone?" Eugene pulled back, looking into my eyes with a concerned gaze.

"To Jared and Iris' aid, but she cannot return because she could lead the culprits to us. She can't risk her mother either so she stayed with them.... Sophia, she predicted an attack late last night that will happen in a few hours... there is nothing we can do, it'll end worse for everyone if we do..."

"But they can't be left to fight alone! Jared was injured badly, probably the same with Iris..." He shook his head, exasperated, "T-This is unacceptable."

He stood from the table and Ava stepped back, guilt in her eyes and pulling down her shoulders to the earth.

"T-This is all my fault..." She said, her tears threatening to crash down from her sparkling eyes at any moment.

"It isn't, I promise... Never is..."
