After a few minutes, Eugene convinced Ava to give this idea a try, though it pained him every second to encourage her to be courted by another. He didn't trust either of them to treat Ava with the amount of respect she deserved... especially knowing Demetrius and the neglect his sister suffered from their whole family.

But this Christopher, though mysterious, could be a good guy in disguise.

"I know, I'll try..." Ava said as they walked the hall again together. Samuel joined them as they walked, staying quiet.

"It won't be hard, you are the nicest person I know, compassionate, and kind. You can do this!" Eugene smiled, pushing through for Ava.

"Princess!" A young boy called after her, carrying a small tray of chocolates as he ran down the hallway. In seconds the boy slips on the tile, his feet flying up behind him. He lands face down, bracing himself with his wrist, the tray and the chocolate scattered on the floor.

"Oh god!" Samuel rushed to the boy, who proceeded to wobbly get to his feet, "Are you okay?"

"I-I'm fine, ohh Demetrius will kill me! I'm sorry Princess Ava..." He looked at the floor, still holding his wrist. Ava sighed and walked to him.

"I don't recall meeting you, what's your name?" She asked, the boy's hair a strawberry blond, and was a little older than Samuel.

"My name is Eric, Eric Turner ma'am..." he said quietly.

"It's nice to meet you, Eric! Don't worry about Demetrius, he won't do any harm to you I promise. And we can clean this up with next to no effort in no time," She smiled, happily picking up his tray, "Samuel, please take Eric to the infirmary. He has hurt his wrist."

"I can do that..." Samuel said, taking Eric's arm. Eric's cheeks turned red only a second, looking at Samuel with surprise. No one ever helped him, even before he had begun to work there, he's only a young orphan, no one important. He rarely even felt important to himself.

"Thank you, sir?" Eric asked, inquiring about his title.

"Samuel, you can call me that," He smiled, as they turned and walked down the hall.

"He's a kind young kid, clumsy, but kind," Eugene smiled, helping Ava to pick up the mess on the floor.

"Very... I don't understand how people can stay so pure, as the world changes. How does it not change them along with it?" Ava asked, more so to herself but the words came from her mouth to Eugene's ears.

"Change? The world can change around us all it likes, but we can remain steady... in the truth of ourselves, and what we believe in," They reached to pick up the same piece, hands meeting briefly. Eugene stared into Ava's eyes, "The things we want..."
