"Who is to marry the Princess?" Christopher asked patiently, his gaze drifting from Demetrius to the King, "Have I interrupted a prearranged event?"

"Why yes, you have," The Queen commented, narrowing her eyes.

"Is there any remedy for this situation that doesn't involve my departure?" Christopher asked jokingly, causing the Queen to laugh.

"I believe we can work this out," The Queen stated, and then looked to her husband, "Have Ava decide. Between the two of them, by the end of the week she will decide who to marry," She devised, the King nodding along.

"Even with our arrangements, this could work!" The King agreed, much to Demetrius' dismay.

"But our kingdoms, we have been joined in peace for decades! This was the plan for both the heirs! And he can just, waltz right in and change everything? I wish you not to take offense, but Ava is clearly incapable of such a large decision!"

"If you speak unkindly of my only daughter again I will personally see you out, boy," The King bellowed, the hall echoing as he towered over Demetrius, who had gained some sense and shut up, "Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes, good King," Demetrius bowed and with the matter settled, the future of the Kingdom fell upon Ava's decision.
