Meanwhile, Jared took Andres to a stand where he usually purchased healing supplies and herbs. Andres looked and seemed uneasy and frustrated, His only reason being Lola. He cared about her and she had just gone off with a stranger he barely knew. He had liked her for a long time, as a lot more than close family friends, but he never had the courage to tell her. And he never thought someone else would get in his way. Lola kept to herself because of her mother and their secrets, so he never thought he would have competition, especially from some random huntress girl.
"How well do you know this, Iris girl," Andres asked Jared after they left the stand with a satchel full of supplies.
"Well, I've known her for a long time, I would patch her up after her hunting trips so we grew to like each other after the first few visits. She is a good woman, strong-willed with a golden heart. She doesn't let past mistakes drag her down and... I admire that," Jared smiled, recalling his memories with the woman when they used to hate each other when she started opening up.
"Do you love her?" Andres asked casually. Jared's eyes went wide.
"No! No no, you get the wrong idea. I love her, but our love is purely friendship. We both admire each other and the qualities we possess, but we've never been romantic with each other," Jared clarified, chuckling a bit.
"Hm," Andres pondered as the two men made their way through the market.
