Chapter Five

“Oh. Yeah. Just wreck the place Vegeta, I don‘t mind. Popo!”, Kami shouts.

“Occupied!”, he shouts back from within the palace.

“Wha--doing what?!”

“Stuff that doesn’t include cleaning that up!”

“Dammit Popo, what kind of servant are you if you don’t serve?!”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa…whoa now. Popo’s your man servant?”, Tein asks.

“Shut up Tein, or should we discuss you and Chiaotzu’s relationship? The story of a grown man spending all his time alone in the mountains with a child covered in powder white clown make-up--”

“I think I saw pedobear lurking in those mountains, ha!”, Popo adds.

“--who‘s only offensive ability is to blow himself up. Effectively committing suicide, isn’t that why he isn’t here now? Should I continue?” Kami continues.

“Point taken.” Tein says.

“Thought so.” Says Kami.

Just then the island begins to shake. Small pieces of rumble begin to flow about us.

“It can’t be…”, Vegeta says again staring in the sky.

“Listen Z Fighters, we--”, Kami begins.

“Barrel Boys!”, Popo shouts.

“Dammit Popo! Anyway King Kai has told me horrible details about Freiza. He has the power to destroy worlds with ease, his heartless ambition to rule the northern galaxy has been at the cost of billions of innocent lives. Sadly this trait seems to run in the family.”, Kami says.

“Wait, there’s more like him?”, I ask.

“Yes. Freiza has an older brother, Cooler, who’s power actually dwarfs that of Freiza. Cooler is prince--”

“Phff, he wishes.”, Vegeta says.

“--to his evil father King Cold, who has taught his children the only way to achieve greatness is to take anything you want by pure force. They pride themselves on having the cruelty to crush anything and anyone who stands before them.”, Kami continues.

“Guessing that’s where we come in? To stand in his way?”, Piccolo asks.

“Well we are in the northern galaxy, sooo…”, Kami replies

“Yeah I thought as much.”, Piccolo adds.

“Ok, but how are we suppose to last when we just lost a man? I mean Vegeta just jack hammered Yamcha like it was nothing. If this guy is stronger than all of us--”, Krillin starts.

“Hey! Speak for yourself baldy. Freiza may have you useless fools shaking in your boots but I am ready for him. He will fall at the hands of the Sayian Prince!.”, Vegeta says.

“Yeah that’s great and all Vegeta but you killing teammates still doesn’t help.”, Krillin replies.

“Very easy way to avoid that you know.”, Vegeta leads.

“That being?”, Krillin asks.

Vegeta shifts directly in front of Krillin, snatches him off his feet by his throat so that they are looking eye to eye, “Stay the HELL out of my way!”

“Put him down Vegeta.”, Kami demands.

Vegeta stares down Krillin before dropping him onto his back. “Is that the great Kami speaking? Ha! Know what you can do for me, Guardian?”, Vegeta asks turning his sights to Kami.

“Be very careful about what comes out of your mouth Sayian, don’t forget you’re speaking to a God.” Kami commands.

“A God?! You...a God? Don’t make me laugh slug! You sit way up here watching over the Earthlings but where are you when they are in danger? Where is all your power then? You call us, this group of alien fighters with only two actual humans to project your people. I remember you playing genie in a bottle when Garlic Jr. came to town, what happened oh powerful one? Bested by a mere child, pathetic! Can you even call them your people when they don’t know you exist? They worship that fool Hercule more than they concern themselves with you! You have no true power Kami, hell if your twin over here dies you go with him but at least he has the courage to fight.”, Vegeta says shrugging towards Piccolo.

“How dare you speak to me with such disrespect moral?!”, Kami starts

“Quiet, both of you! There’s no time for this pissing contest! There’s a powerful enemy heading right for us and you two can’t think of anything better to do than this?!” Piccolo shouts.

“Piccolo is right. We’re better spending this time preparing than fighting among ourselves and right now we need every advantage we can get. Krillin I‘m out of Senzu Beans, can you see if Mr. Popo has any for Yamcha?”, I ask

“Umm, no.”, he snaps.

“Huh?, what’s the problem Krillin?”, I ask.

“I’m not going into Kami’s palace. I swear every time I come here I hear something either sleeping or whispering near the entrance. It’s like two other people are trapped somewhere in that place. When Popo comes out, I’ll ask, but I’m not going in there”, Krillin replies.

“Oh man, are you serious? Stop being a waste of space and get the beans, Yamcha needs them.”, Tein says.

“Yes, calling me names will certainly get me to go in now. Don‘t see you volunteering Tein, you got three eyes so nothing should get the jump on you right? Well except Goku when he beat you in the tournament. Also when Piccolo took you out in the tournament years later. Then there was that wicked fight with Nappa…”

“Ha, he wouldn’t even by here if it wasn’t for me stopping Nappa. In fact Nappa would’ve killed all of you and sold the planet, or simply destroyed it. He wasn’t much for brains but his power was formable. Well, to you guys at least he was. I still think it was a mistake to allow him to live and leave the planet.”, Vegeta says.

“Alright Krillin we get it. Fine, I’ll go see if he has any damn beans. I don‘t recall asking for a recap Vegeta.”, Tein says heading towards the palace.

“Don’t recall where I put your right hand Nappa sliced off either but things have a way of turning up, don’t they?”, Vegeta replies.

“I can feel something very dark moving towards the planet. Empty and cold. Never sensed something like it before. Way more powerful than Nappa.”, I say.

“I know Gohan, I’ve been searching for high energy sources and that darkness is certainly him. His presence isn’t something you easily forget but me laughing as I choke the life out of him will be the last thing he ever sees!”, Vegeta’s power bursts from within engulfing him bright flame as he angrily continues.

“He murdered my father shamelessly, sneak attacking like a true COWARD! Destroyed the King’s realm, my planet, and our home from the safety of his ship because he was afraid of us Gohan. Afraid that one day we would rise against him, crushing his pathetic family of freaks on our way to greatness! His worst nightmare WILL come true, a Sayian will kill Freiza for the horrible crimes he has committed against my people. He will know fear, he will witness what true power, he will know that his defeat was suffered at the feet of the Prince! Nothing less will restore the Sayian pride he stole from me but the end of his evil, miserable LIFE by my…Super…Sayian…Hands!”
