-One Year Later-{Dave's P.O.V:
Leaving Cali was the best thing that I could've done. Me and Kairi started our lives over for the better. A week after we settled in New Jersey, I hurried up and put Kairi in school. I didn't want her to just stay home and be bored, I wanted my baby to actually learn and make new friends
She's been a real trooper, it was surprising how fast she would catch on to stuff and keep her identity hidden. My babygirl was definitely smart like me.
"Daddy you're gonna make me late for my recital and I'm the main flower girl" Kairi pouted as I was trying to figure out what I was gonna do with her hair.
"Mamas I want you to look pretty but I don't wanna keep putting cornrows in ya hair. I don't want you to look like a little boy"
She groaned "Daddyyyy"
"Alright, alright...hold on I gotchu"
I simply brushed her hair up in a bun and put a little tiara in front of it so it can compliment her outfit for her recital.
She ran to the mirror and began to cheese hard "Oh my gosh! I look so pretty, Thank You Daddyyy!!!"
"No problem babygirl, come on and put your shoes on so I can hurry up and bring you to your recital"
"Okay"
Today was Kairi's big day, it was her spring dance recital and I've been watching her practice for weeks until she felt comfortable that she got it right.
When she put her shoes on I carefully picked her up and brought her to my car.
Now we were on our way to the school.-12 minutes later-
When we made it to the school we got there early which was great. It would give us time to link up with Kairi's instructor and her little recital buddies before performing later on.
The instructor informed me that all of the parents and families were located in the auditorium.I made my way over there and found a perfect seat, just in time actually because a lot of people were coming in finding seats.
Luckily I was in the front row. As I was seated I just waited until my daughter came out because I knew it was almost time.
The recital started at 9:15 and it was only 8:59."Excuse me, is anyone sitting here?"
I turned to see who was talking to me and I stared at her in awe.
I examined her body then went back to her face "Oh nah, nobody's sitting here"
I watched as she sat down next to me then she finally introduced herself "I'm Kenslee, I'm here to support my daughter Triniti...now what about you? Who are you here to see?"
"My daughter Kairi, she's actually one of the lead flower girls here"
"Aww okay I can't wait to see her perform with my daughter. So....what's your name?"
I responded while extending my hand out to hers,"I'm Dave"
Kenslee shook my hand and smiled. As me and her started talking I started to get to know her more. She didn't really tell me much but it was enough for me.
Enough for me to know that she was easygoing yo talk to but she still had her guard up....that was understandable.
I was the same way.
