Mishti looked up at Abir as the bulb in her head went off.
"Abir, Tum kab se mere paas ho aur meri wajah se tum Parul masi ke saath time spend nahi kar rahe na? But Abir that isn't fair. Mein jaanti hoon ki tum unse kitna pyaar karte ho aur woh tumse. And I don't want to come in the middle of that. Isliye husband, Tum jaao aur unke saath baitho. I'm going to ice these ribs for a bit so that when you're back we can talk and have fun alright?" Mishti said. Abir looked at her with a knowing look and said, "well, wife. I know that you're up to something and that you need me out of here to execute whatever it is that you're doing, but nothing at the cost of your health please. Once we're at home and all this swelling goes down, only then you can execute your plan. Not before that. But because you're right, I need to go to Parul Masi, I'm going but not before sending kunal here." He smirked. Mishti laughed and said, "and you think your precious Nanko, won't do something his dear, injured bhabhi has asked him to do?" Mishti smirked. Abir grumbled. Knowing full well that Mishti was right and that kunal would do whatever Mishti would ask him to do. Stupid team. He frowned and said, "Mishti yaar. Please mat karo na kuch bhi. Whatever it is that you've planned won't make me as happy as it would to see a healthy Mishti. Out of this damn hospital. Let's make a deal, one week . Exactly one week and then you can do anything. Warna mujhe Badi Ma ko batana padega ki unki beti ke iraade kuch thik nahi hai. Phir wohi mujhe protect karengi." He challenged. Mishti laughed and said, "Mere iraade bilkul bhi acche nahi hai Ajeeb Rajvansh and tum badi ma se meri complaint karoge? Lekin tum mere ho. Mere husband. Mere best friend. So mujhe toh koi farak nahi padta!" She teased back. Abir blushed at mishtis blatant affection but rolled his eyes and laughed. "Bold, violent angry chorni!" He teased. Mishti laughed at him and at how adorably shy her husband was.
But to make him feel better and not turn into an absolute mother hen, mishti refrained from executing her surprise for a week after she was allowed to go home. Which also gave her more time to prepare. And just like always, Abir took utmost care of his wife. He worked from home all week, and spent every waking moment taking care, spending time and worrying about mishti. He would feed her, he would read to her, he would give her a massage every time she felt week, ice her ribs, watch movies with her and just about do anything and everything that made mishti felt loved and well taken care of. Truly, Abir was making up for all the lost love of her life.
It was finally a week later and the wound on her ribs were healing, slowly and steadily but they were, good thing because Holi was hardly 15 days away and she wanted to be able to play Holi to her hearts content with Abir, and celebrate the beautiful festival that brought them together. But that would come later. Today she was going to surprise Abir with a nice Valentines Day surprise. That boy deserved it. Mishti knew that after everything that had happened, Abir needed someone to tell him and actually show him that he was loved. A lot. And that he was the reason for the happiness of so many people and so she had everything planned for him. And obviously thanks to kunal and Nishant who had played a great role in setting everything up given mishtis health.
They had all forced Abir to get out of the house and to the NGO, for one day and after a lot of grumbling, Abir had in fact agreed. When he returned home around dinner time, the house was completely empty and the lights off. Abir shook his head but grinned at the same time. He went inside the house, and found a candle on the dinning table, with a note addressed to him. He smiled and opened it.
It said,
Hello husband,
I'm waiting for you at the terrace, but before that, go to the room and change and meet me upstairs.
Waiting for you ;)He smiled and went to their room. And to his delight, the entire room was decorated with flowers, and balloons and on the bed, was a nice comfortable turquoise blue linen shirt and a pair of pants. He grinned at the clothes and a note fell down from the pocket.
Mother Hen,
Meine yeh room akele decorate nahi kiya hai so DO NOT WORRY. change and meet me on the terrace!
Waiting for you ;)
