Everything seemed to spiral out of proportion. First it was a witch, now it's a werewolf. How could any of this possibly add up?

Felicity began to examine the body. "This is Bailee's body. I can tell," I didn't bother to ask how. "She was killed by a werewolf at around sundown; the wolf must've been in the house when it turned."

It was at that moment we both realized what was going on.

"That must mean... Linda's the werewolf." She concluded.

"But that still doesn't answer the question behind the witchcraft. Why was Gerald performing spells? It doesn't make any sense."

"The warding symbols," She muttered. "That's why he used warding symbols. He was trying to protect those women from Linda!"

"Why were there X's on the photos then?"

"Well, he's a terrible Wiccan to be honest. Those symbols were a bit half-ass. Probably so much so that they didn't even work."

"Linda is a werewolf. Gerald found out and they got into an argument. Their fighting continued for a long while, until she stormed out. She came here, and it just so happens-"

"That last night was a full moon!" She finished.

"Precisely. It is beginning to add up now."

"Now we just need to find Linda. If I were a wanted werewolf, where would I hide?"

I suddenly had an epiphany. "Felicity, I believe I have a plan."

"Alright, let me hear it."

"We can track her scent with a search dog. A bloodhound, perhaps. Or a Bassett hound. Or a-"

"A beagle!"

We exchanged glances and were immediately on the same page. This plan would work, I was sure of it.

We flew to the pet store and went inside. Thankfully, the puppy was still there. We purchased her and returned to Bailee's home.

"We'll need to find something that belongs to Linda. Wait here while I look for something." Felicity began to search the house.

I held the puppy, who was restless. She kept squirming in my hold.

"Um... can you please not move?" I asked.

She only barked and continued squirming. Perhaps this wasn't such a good idea. I sighed lightly, the puppy doing the same.

I looked down at her. She seemed to copy whatever anyone else did. I held her up so we were at eye level. I tilted my head to the side, the puppy doing the same.

"Why do you mimic whatever anyone else does?" I asked.

She only yawned, her head drooping tiredly. I held her to my chest and scratched her behind the ear. She seemed to enjoy it. At least she stopped squirming.

She suddenly looked up at me and started licking my cheek. I tried to get her to stop, but I couldn't. Probably because a part of me didn't want to.

"Um... puppy, can you stop that?" I couldn't help but chuckle. She started licking my neck and I laughed. It was starting to... tickle.

She was practically on my shoulder, sniffing me all over. She started sniffing my ear and I cringed. It was seriously starting to tickle.

"Stop it!" I laughed. I tried to sound assertive, but it was impossible with this puppy. This puppy that copied. Mimicked. Echoed.
