Under the tree were an assortment of gifts. The only ones that were decently wrapped were the ones from Felicity. Dean, Sam, and I had no idea how to wrap these things.
I didn't really know what the boys would want, so I "winged it". For Felicity, however, I tried my very best. It had to be something special, a gift she'd not easily forget.
We were all opening the gifts, and I patiently awaited her opening mine. As I waited, I opened my own presents.
From Sam, I got a strange cube. On it's six sides, there were different colored stickers. One side would have red, one would have white, and so on. The cube consisted of smaller cubes, all stacked up to form it's shape.
"It's a Rubix cube," He tried to explain. "It's like a puzzle cube. You rearrange the sides so the colors get mixed up, then you have to put it back together."
I twisted the top of the cube, which was white, and aligned the sides so the colors were slightly mismatched. I didn't really see the point in this "puzzle cube".
Felicity took the cube and quickly twisted all the sides around, the colors becoming completely mixed. There were an assortment of colors on all the sides.
She handed it back to me. "Now match up all the colors." She grinned.
I stared down at the cube for a while, until I opened my present from Dean. He got me a "movie set". It was a trilogy known as Back To The Future.
"Are they enjoyable?" I asked him.
"Yeah, they're friggin awesome!" He chuckled.
"And it is about a man who travels back in time and tears the fabric of the time/space continuum?"
He nodded. "Pretty much, yeah. He gets in the way of his parents meeting, and he has to hook them up before he disappears. That's the first one. In the sequel, he goes the the year 2015 and sees his own future. I don't really remember that one very well, but the third one! It's the definition of awesome! It's a bit hard to explain unless you've seen the second one, but Marty and Doc go to the old west! It's a great set of movies!"
I half smiled at his enthusiasm. I admired his passion for human culture. Movies, music, all the things he adored, I admired him for that. "I look forward to watching them."
Felicity handed me a present. "This one's from me." She smiled.
I ripped off the wrapping paper and opened the small box. Inside were two necklaces. One had a small key; the other had a heart with the shape of the key carved out of the side, so it could be inserted, and engraved in the heart was "Only The Key Holder Can Unlock My Heart". It was beautiful.
"Do you like it?" Felicity asked.
I smiled brightly and looked to her. "I love it. I... I don't know what to say."
She pressed her lips to mine, her hand at the back of my neck. I returned the kiss, cupping her face in my hand that wasn't holding the necklaces.
After a few moments, we were interrupted by the sound of Dean clearing his throat loudly. We separated, looking around awkwardly. Soon our eyes met, and we smiled.
"Let me help you with your necklace, key holder." Felicity grinned.
She took the necklace with the key and helped me put it on. The small charm fell just below the knot in my tie.
I studied the heart carefully before looking back to Felicity. "And this one? Would you like me to... help you with it?"
She smiled and nodded. She pulled her hair back as I put the necklace on her. The charm fell just below her clavicle. It looked exquisite on her. It didn't surprise me.
