Skinny Love( Finnick Odair)

Chapter One-Even Soliders Break

I laugh and run away from Finnick. I jump over the small puddle of water, giggling slightly. He grabbed my wrists and pulled me to his chest. It smelt of sea salt and mint. Only he can make it smell good.

"Shh baby. They can't know we sneak out" He whispers and I nod. I look up at his eyes and smile. I missed him like crazy and he just got back from the games. He sneak me out of my house and brought me pass the fences to our pond. Yes,our pond. We spent a lot of time here together and we came here before the games and he gave me a necklace made out of gold with an anchor on it. I wore it every day and he always smiles when I play with it.

"I missed you" I whisper and kiss his check. He sat us down on the field next to the pond. It was beautiful at night. The moon reflecting off of it and making the water look white but dark. Like our life's. I was in the games too. The year before Finnick and I barely made it. He helped me become a better person.

"You will always have me with you. Always" he tells me and then his eyes turn gray and then everything goes black.

I sit up screaming. Johann grabs me and pulls me to her. I sob into her shirt for the fifth time this week. At least I think its been a week.  We were kidnapped and was being held hostage in the Capitol. Johanna and I  shared a cell and we put he two beds together. The whole time, all I could think about was Finnick.  Peeta was worried about Katniss in his own private cell.  He was doing everything to keep her safe.

"I'm sorry. Its just, I finally think that this is all just a dream" I mutter. She just sighs and rubs my back. It soothes me and puts me in peace. Finnick would do this when I had nightmares. But now I'm having nightmares about him. I decide to ask Johann the question that was nagging me.

"Why are you so nice to me?" I ask and she looks at me. Her eyes had started I become gray from all the drugs they have been giving her and Peeta.

"What do you mean?" She replies, even though she knows. Johanna doesn't have a reputation of being nice. She was hiding something.

"You let me cry on your shoulder and you help me when I need someone. Why?" I ask and she laughs.

"Because Finnick would kick my ass if I didn't!" She says and I roll back in my bed. She was still keeping something from me but I will found out what.

"Whatever"I mutter and try to sleep. But all I could think about was Finnicks gray eyes like Johanns and Peetas.

"Give it to me! Not her!" Johann screams and I look at her. We where tied to a chair and the peace keeper was giving us the shots. I've never got one because Johann always says this.

"I am a rebel. She means nothing and she can't even harm a fly" she lies through her teeth. She saw me kill someone with my bare hands and I try to calm down before I start to freak out again. I hate the feeling of killing that innocent girl. The images flash through my head and I bite my lip to hold back my screaming out in horror.

"That is true" the peace keeper says and I look over at her. Her eyes where blank and she had no emotion written on her face. The white gloves man stuck two needles in Johanna's arm and she doesn't even flinch. In fact she smirks, knowing she had gotten her way.

But then the man pulls out a razor. He comes out me and I shriek. He flicks it on and Johanna screams. He turns to he and she smirks, realizing she won.

"Don't cut her ugly hair. Cut my long locks" she taunts him. My eyes widen and I open my mouth.

"No! You can't keep doing this Johanna" I reply and she glares at me. She looked really tired and I could see how hungry she was too. Her cheeks looked almost hallowed looking.

"I promised him" was all she says. the Peace Keeper walks towards her and blocks my view of her and starts to shave her head. I only see her hands clench and un-clench.

What did she mean she promised? And who? I sit there trying not to listen to the buzz of the razors but the only other noise was Peeta yelling out in pain. He is getting the worse and it breaks my heart.

"Done" the white demon says and unlocks us from the chairs. He pushes us in out cell and I glance over at Johann. Her head was bare and I could see the vains popping out.

"I'm sorry" was all I needed to say for her to break down an hug my small frame. I rub her back and lay her down. She just sobs and I lay with her. When she starts to fall asleep I decide something.

Even soldiers break.
