[Lili's POV]
Cole and I have been trying to get pregnant for ages now. It just didn't work out for some unknown reason, we tried it multiple times.
My doctor said that I do am able to get kids and so does Cole so I don't know why it isn't working.
But these past days I actually have some strange feeling.. a feeling that it may have worked. Cole said the past days I was very energetic and seemed so cheery and happy. And well. A woman just notices if she's pregnant right?
Cole was currently on set, finishing his last few scenes. I was at home and looked at the unused pregnancy test. „Please please please." I mumbled pulling the test close to my heart. I took a deep breath and decided to take the test.
I had to wait for 5 minutes and I swear it felt like a lifetime. Cole didn't know that I'm taking another test right now so it would be such a wonderful surprise for him if it says positive.
After I've waited impatiently I flipped the test.
Negative.
Again. I bursted out into tears. Why is it so incredibly hard for us? All we wish for is a baby that's all ours. So many people get pregnant without even planning on. That's so unfair.
Suddenly I've heard the door shut. „Babe, I'm home!" cole screams happily.
When I entered the living room, he was packing some things out of a bag. I wiped my tears away. „Hey" I mumbled. He smiled at me, not noticing that I cried.
„I've bought you some stuff. Your favorite ice cream, oh, and mountain dew. Even though you probably shouldn't be drinking that. Because who knows. You could be pregnant right now." he said chuckling.
„Cole.." I whispered but he didn't hear it.
„Oh aaand." he rummaged in his bag, pulling a new pack of pregnancy tests out of it. „I thought you're probably gonna be needing new ones."
That's when I started crying again. „Cole.." I whispered again, barely with a voice.
He looked at me and noticed that I started crying.
„No, no, lil what's the matter?" he said worriedly as he walked up to me and cupped my cheeks. I looked at the floor sadly.
„I took another test. It was negative as well." I mumbled frustrated.
„Oh.. babe I'm so sorry.. when?" he asked looking me in the eyes.
„A few minutes ago."
He looked at me as he just got his heart broken. He took me into his embrace.
„I d - don't know if it will ever work, Cole... I'm tired of trying it for millions of times." I whispered making him kiss my head.
„I know.. me too." he replied sensitively.
„You know.. there are still some other options." he started making me cuddle more into his chest.
„We could simply adopt a lovely boy or girl and try again after a few years." he suggested making me look up at him.
„Do you think that will work?" I asked worriedly. He nodded. „Of course, love, why wouldn't it be?" he smiled a little.
We started to inform us about a possible adoption. We decided that it would be such a good idea as a pregnancy just does not work. This baby won't have our genes and won't be made by our love, but it will be as loved as our genetical baby. And it'll be all ours as well.
We've decided to adopt a pretty young baby, to get those experiences too. When we were looking for some babies that day, a little baby girl immediately catched my eye. She was smiling at me, trying to grab my little finger. I immediately fell in love with her. She's about 6 months old.
„Oh my god, Cole look! She's perfect." I said smiling at him. He walked up to me and his eyes met hers. „Hey little babygirl." Cole said while chuckling at her, making her giggle.
„I'm guessing she has just found her parents, doesn't she?" he said kissing me on the cheek. „Oh yes, I think she did." I smiled brighter than I've ever done before.
