You heard a cacophony of panicked muffled voices, you are slowly regaining consciousness again. You grunted and groan in pain, what a terrible headache.
"Can you hear me?" Said the doctor, you were seeing double and the world around you was still blurry. You blinked hard, trying to lubricate your eyes and reduce the sting on it.
"H...huh?" You rasp out.
"Can you tell me your name?" The doctor asked you. You can tell that he's trying to stay calm.
"(Y...y/n)(l/n)..." you saw him nod. Panic flashed on his face when he noticed that your eyelids were still drooping and your body is limp.
"Okay, (y/n). Please try your best to stay with me." You weakly nodded and shot your eyes open.
"Can you tell me your date of birth?" He asked. Although the doctor already knows all the necessary personal details, he needs to ensure that your memory is still intact. Hence the questioning.
"Uh..." You squeezed your eyes shut. When were you born again?
No, it's not that you're having amnesia. You didn't really pay attention to birthdates, especially your own because people around frequently forgets. Plus, every one in Motel Motel does not care about birthdays.
Only 'anniversaries' of the employees loyally working in that motel really matters to them.
You tried keeping your focus on the increasingly agitated doctor. "Can you tell me when were you born?" He repeated his question.
"(Y/n)? When is your birthday?" You shifted your eyes to the side, Lanette was looking at you with his wide, worry-filled blue eyes.
Your eyes shifted side to side. You couldn't answer that because you never bothered to remember it in the first place. Hopefully they will let you off the hook.
The doctor pursed his lips and clicked on his pen, about to write something on his clipboard.
"Wait! I think... December 31st, 19XX!" You wheezed out. That was the only date you could think of.
"(Y/n), that's my birthdate." Lanette crossed his arms. Unbelievable, you could remember his, but not your own. Though, he does feel flattered and touched by that.
"Well damn, happy birthday to you then." You brought your hand up to your forehead, rubbing it. Lanette sighed and looked at your doctor.
"They're fine, doctor. They're just not very bright." Lanette's fingers gently rub small circles on your temples.
"Hey!" You exclaimed and slapped his hands away in response to his mild insult. Now you're energetic enough not to fall asleep, but too weak to sit up on your own.
Lanette only chuckled and playfully blew a kiss to you. You grimace in disgust which hurt him inside.
The doctor went on to take a few tests including your blood sugar level, blood pressure and a few MRI scans on your brain.
Two nurses were about to lift you from your bed and onto the stretcher, but Lanette stopped them. Insisting he do it instead.
"What the..." He lifted you up with little to no effort. The male gently sets you down on it. He smiled softly at you and said,
"Everything is going to be okay." before tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
On the way to the MRI room, you were shocked that you needed a few dozens of bodyguards to protect you and the celebrity from the hoards of fans and reporters. Surprisingly, his fans did not give you any words of hate. Only sympathetic looks or glares from the ones who actually noticed your presence.
"I guess they're mild when it comes to injured people." You weakly stared at them as the nurses push your the stretcher forward.
Most of them were screaming far more disturbing words to Lanette such as:
"I want you to plant your seed into me and have a million babies!"
"Lanette! I will gut myself for you!"
"I'll pull my dying mother's life support out just for you, if you want!"
"I want your babies!"
"Please cum into me so I can have your babies!"
"I'll kill my whole family for you!"
"I'll leave my boyfriend for you!"
"I want a taste of that circumcised cock!"
You raised both eyebrows and looked at Lanette. He's not exhibiting any emotions, his face is completely blank. The celebrity did not spare any glances towards his fans.
"Damn guy's a human too, that's a dick move to say stupid shit like that..." you pity Lanette, being sexually objectified by his fans doesn't sit right with you. Moreover, he can never sleep peacefully, knowing that his insane fans might be plotting his doom. You shook your head, his life is obviously worse than yours.
Lanette brought his eyes down to you. He pities you, being constantly riddled with diseases, suffering from malnutrition, financially incapable to pay for your own hospital bills. The long-haired male sigh, Your life is obviously much worse than his.
"Oh, (y/n). You're so stubborn." He muttered under his breath as he watches you laying still on the hospital stretcher.
"You're so damn hard-headed." You grumbled about Lanette quietly.
A nurse pushed both doors open for your stretcher to pass through.
You felt intimidated by the MRI machine because you have never experienced being scanned in one before. "That monster of a machine doesn't look friendly..."
"Hey, Hey, Hey, I'm goin' in there!?" You pointed at the large ring. The doctor nodded at you.
"Is this thing gonna bring me to an alternate timeline!? It looks like something straight out of a Determinator movie!" You exclaimed.
Lanette tried to 'calm' you down by caressing your cheeks and kissing you on the forehead. "My dear, there is nothing to fret about. It's just a big magnet that works like an X-ray machine."
It backfired because you became more agitated than before. "Stop touching me, damn it!" You swatted his hand away. He pouted for a while before carrying you up from the stretcher and onto the patient table.
"Please stay still, my love." He cooed as he strokes your hair. You grimaced at the pet name and the affectionate touch.
