Surprise surprise. My father is taking my life over again. I sit on my desk watching him tape up another box. "You don't have to do this you know." He turns his head to me with sad eyes. "You need to be safe, (y/n)." I scoff standing up and walking over to him. "What type of danger am I in?" Jim slams the box down and towers over me. "(y/n), Jerome might be locked up but that doesn't mean his followers are going to stop. They know who you are and where you live! Look at this." He pulls out a stack of fan mail from the cult.

I shrug pushing the letters away. "They won't come after me." "You're not that dumb, (y/n)." I huff crossing my arms. "Where am I even going to go?"

Jim looks at me from the corner of his eye and sighs. "You've still got friends in high places. Barbra is setting you up somewhere." He walks out the door with my last box leaving the apartment almost empty. It looks like I just got up and left in the middle of the night. I close the door locking it shut.

"Really? You've got stairs now?" Jerome asks eating his sandwich. I nod smiling while showing him the pictures of my new home. "Jimbo went all out." I smile laughing. "He's such a trip. So worried I'm going to-" "Be like me." Jerome bites again and laughs.

I run my finger over the stitches on his face causing him to wince. "They're healing nice." Jerome smiles and pinches my cheek. "You're just nice."

"Do my eyes play tricks or is it Ms. Gordon who has come to show off her kicks? I like the shoes by the way." Jervis says sitting beside me. Jerome narrows his eyes at him. "Beat it. We don't want to make paper hats with you."

Jervis blocks out Jerome as he smiles at me. "Ms. Gordon, haven't lost a touch of beauty I see. Tell me, was your mother as beautiful as you seem to be?"

I smirk nodding. "It's good to see you too, Jervis."

Jerome lays his hands on the table frowning. "How many guys did you make friends with, huh?" "Aw, J. Don't worry. Jervis might play, but you're the only one who gets to bite." Jerome's eyes widen and he smirks giggling. "Hear that Hatter?" Jervis hums, "To where I wish I had covered my ears. Good day you two."

Jerome grabs my hand and leans his head on my shoulder. "You know you could just kill your dad and be in here with me." I laugh brushing my fingers on his hand. "Oh what a life that would be."

Jerome nods and pats my thigh standing up. "You've been here long enough, doll. You're getting stares now." Jerome pushes me towards the door shielding my figure.

"Oh, before you go." Jerome holds my waist, dips me in his arms, and places a passionate kiss upon my lips earning howls and whistles. He pulls away and spins me out the door. As the white gate shuts between us I smile at him fanning myself. "You sure do know how to make a girl insane." He winks smirking. "Come back soon?" "How can I stay away?"

Jeremiah POV:

"Mr. Wilde. We thank you for everything you've done. This will be transported to the location as soon as we can. Thank you again." I nod and turn walking out the door leaving them behind. I get in the cab and watch the buildings pass and turn into the dull trees of the outskirts of Gotham.

I pull my phone out calling (Y/n) once more. "We're sorry, but the number you have tried to reach has been disconnected. Please hang up and redial the-" I groan wondering what could've happened.

Once inside my office, I see her belongings everywhere. I pick up her notebook and wrongfully open it up flipping page by page. As I open a page near the front a photo falls to the ground. I flip it over and back into my desk in shock.

"No." I shake my head looking at her beautiful smile and loving eyes directed towards an evil being fueled by fire and hatred. "Aw, darling, no."

I pick up my phone dialing my assistant. "Echo. I need you to gather all the information about (Y/n) Gordon available to the public, and the underground. Do it fast. She's in danger." I hang up and graze over her face.

-

Echo slams a file 5 inches thick on my desk with a satisfied smile. "Your girlfriend's been pretty busy."

I open the file starting from the beginning. "She wasn't like most girls I see." Picking up her school records. "She was suspended for a week because she was caught hotboxing the girl's bathroom." I shake my head laying the paper down and continuing to dig.

Echo passes me another paper. "She went to a therapist after Jerome died." "It must've hurt her more than I thought." Echo shakes her head. "She didn't go by choice."

I look down to read the document. "This hereby states (y/n) Gordon will not be admitted into Arkham if she willingly attends and finishes the emotional reconstructive and development course with Dr. Lindsy. If she refuses or does not complete the treatment, she will be admitted until further notice." I look up meeting Echo's eyes. "Why would she need emotional reconstruction? She's not like him. She wouldn't-"

"Hello, Gotham City! We're the Maniax, and I'm Jerome. The shot caller of our little gang. This is my precious little doll, (y/n). I made her. UGH! Isn't she wonderful?" (Y/n) giggles kissing Jerome's cheek. "We're here to spread the message of wisdom and hope," A moan of pain appears in the background.

Jerome rolls his eyes and shoots the man dead. "Some people have no manners." (Y/n) says.

"You're all prisoners. What you call sanity, it's just a prison in your minds that stops you from seeing that you're a; just little tiny cogs in a giant absurd machine. WAKE UP!"

The sound of sudden sirens approach. "Oh time to go! But don't worry we'll be back very soon!" "Hang onto your hats folks! Cause you ain't seen nothing yet!" Laughter rings out from Jerome as the screen goes black.

I stare at the large screen in shock. I rewind and watch the video over and over searching for a sign of the (y/n) I know, but the issue is... she's there. I'm looking right at her prance around laughing with my Maniac brother.

"He brainwashed her." Echo said scoffing. I shake my head touching the screen. "No. He didn't." "Of course he did! She's not like that now. She can't even hurt a fly!"

I laugh shaking my head and walking over to the file pulling out various stapled papers. "No. She's just good at hiding it. He didn't make her do anything." I flip through the pages glancing over the many words. "Look! Her and Jerome killed a man when they were 17. She wrote about it. She wrote every detail, every feeling. She wasn't infected by Jerome. She's just like him, but just better at faking it. She's smarter than him. She was the one who freed him. He saw that it was okay. She was the one to teach him how. Even if she didn't know."

Echo reads over the passages. "So what now?" I pick up the picture and sigh watching my beautiful women. "Now, I need to save her from herself."
