Kabron entered the living room to see his mother laid out on the couch with her head in his grandmother's lap. Vanessa's body looked so frail and weak, all she could do was shake and shiver. Kabron knew that look to well and it broke his heart to see his mother was going through withdraws like this. Even though she looked like she was about to pass out or worse and Grandma Lousie was doing her best to comfort her only daughter. Lousie was the best grandmother that she could be, and granted before she didn't disown her daughter for a good cause she still loved her and Kabron. Nobody could blame Lousie for her actions though, Vanessa had disappointed her big time and to know that her child was strung out on drugs killed her inside. She had been a single mother for so long, but that didn't stop Lousie from being the best mother to her daughter. She was active in her life, made sure she kept up in school and took her to church every sunday, but still Vanessa found her way out in the streets with the wrong crowd who introduced her to Wallace's father. After that for a long time Lousie felt like she failed as a mother, it took a lot of praying and a lot of healing for her to find closure in her heart.
"Kabron ya mama needs help" Lousie told him just as he broke her stare from his ill mother.  "Take her and get her some help please" she added with seriousness in her eyes.

He nodded his head just as she stood to her feet. She kissed Kabron's forehead and left the room to give them some privacy. "Ma you gonna be okay... you hear me"? he told her as he cuffed her head in his lap and held her hand. Seeing her like this as she rocked back and forth brought tears to his eyes.
"I'm so sorry son... I'm sorry I failed you. I left you out in the cold when you needed me the most, but here you are right by my side" she said in between shivers.
"You don't have to say sorry to me mama I still love you with all my heart" he said as a tear slid down his face.
"You gotta help me Kabron... I know that you can... I need rehab I can't live like this nomore" she cried.
He held her tightly in his arms making her feel completely safe and free for a moment. Lousie stood back and watched her only grandson and daughter and silently cried her heart out with her back against the wall. She had prayed a many of night of the day to come where Vanessa would come back home and be willing to let all this go. Here they both were sitting on her couch making a mens with each other and that warmed her soul, God had answered her prayer and brought her babies back to her.

Once Vanessa was checked in to the clinic and comfortable Kabron kissed her goodbye and left. This was a start for his mother to change her life around and this was his start on rebuilding their relationship. If he got his mother back he promised himself he would never let her go down that path again because she meant the world to him and he didn't wanna lose her to the streets or to drugs. He drove back to grandma lousie's house to make sure she was okay and after chopping it up with her for a few he left and went back home. The next day Jamel swung by and picked Kabron up so they could go by his parents house. Soon as they walked through the door the smell of good food hit their nose instantly causing their stomach's to growl. Jamel walked in the kitchen with Kabron behind him and planted a kiss on his mother's face. "Wassup ma" he said as he hopped up on the counter.
"Hey baby" she said giving Kabron a hug. "How's ya mom"?
She doing alright forreal, I dropped her off last at the rehab center downtown. Hopefully this time she stays" he said. Tabitha nodded her head "Yeah baby I hope so too... she gonna be alright". Back in the day Tabitha and Vanessa use to be cool, but when Vanessa turn for the worse she wined up distant herself from everyone.
He nodded his head "Yeah".
"Son what you up to... you came to see ya dad"?  Jamel nodded "Yeah we got some business to talk about".
"How's my baby Meme doing"?
Jamel sat there nodding his head for a second as he stared off. He finally looked at him mother "She good... she's pregnant".
Tabitha's mouth dropped "Wait... what forreal... my babies ready be parents and you didn't tell me".
"I told dad, he knew".
"You ain't tell me son I thought we were better than that"Tabitha said playfully hitting Jamel with her kitchen towel.
"Come on ma don't be like that you know your my favorite lady" He told her as he jumped down off the counter and kissed her cheek.
