Sylvia's POV
Too cutesy...
Too flaunting...
Too goth...
Too sweet...
Too slutty...
WAY too slutty...
"Lord," I mumbled to myself. "Do I own no clothes at all?" I glanced over to the mountain of clothes, shaking my head. No, I really didn't. What a shame.
"Agh... why is picking out clothes for a party so hard." I whined a tad, throwing myself on the bed, on top of the mountain of clothes. Some of them decided to fall off the side of the bed, much to my delight.
I sat and stared at the ceiling fan going around and around, before finally deciding to get up and try again.
Too slutty...
Too slutty...
Too slutty...
I was starting to sense a pattern.
I rummaged around in the basically bare pile of clothes, trying to find something that might work.
That might... I thought as my hand ran across a sparkly pink top. While it was slightly flaunting, it was also extremely cute, and would look good with high waisted black bell pants and black strappy heel things.
"Finally." I muttered, running to the bathroom to change. After that, I then proceeded to do my makeup, slightly more daring than I usually tended to go. I finished the entire outfit with a high messy bun, curling two strands on the side.
"Good enough." I mutter to myself. It would have to work, I apparently had brought absolutely no clothes to look even halfway decent at all.
I headed out the door, waving a hand at all of the cabs as I exited the hotel. Oh... Vegas. And all the lights.
I finally waved down a cab, greeting the driver and handing him the address Sombre had given me. The cab stopped about twenty minutes later, dropping me off at a place that was already booming with noise.
I walked into the house, and Sombre immediately greeted me.
"Hey! You made it!" She said, walking towards me with a cup that reeked of alcohol.
"Uhm, yeah." I said, the girl already making me sweat with her presence. She was really pretty, especially in her party garb. Still completely black, but this time it was really short shorts, with fishnet stalkings, a black top with a black leather jacket with patches all over it. Her hair was down and straight, and her cheeks were flushed. Probably from the alcohol.
"You look great!" She said, hugging me and looking me up and down, making me blush. Yep, she was definitely tipsy. The hardened, almost ass-like girl from on the bus was gone, replaced with a bubbly, sweet girl who had hugged me. Me. I was maybe freaking out a little on the inside. Only a little.
"Want something to drink?" Sombre asked, taking my hand and pulling me away from the entry. Yep, this girl was great.
"Uhm... I don't think so." I stammered, trying to keep my composure. No need to let her know I was hoping for something that could never happen.
"Oh, come on." Sombre encouraged. "You look like you could use the feeling of being in love for a little while."
"Think you're pretty much doing that for me." I said, maybe a little too loudly.
She turned around, staring at me. Sure... she was drunk and seemed to be able to ignore every other noise around her, but that she had heard.
"Excuse me?" She asked, the previous bubbly-ness of her voice being replaced by the harsh words of what had been displayed on the bus. "What was that you just said?"
Shit...
"Uhm... I said that the air was pretty much doing that for me. I'm sweating buckets just standing in here."
"Oh. Okay!" Sombre exclaimed, the bubbly-ness back in her voice.
Thank everybody.
"But still, you should at least try a little bit of the alcohol here. Why else would you come?"
"Well..." I started. "I'm kind of going around the whole world trying to find my soulmate. Ya know... ready to settle down and all that fun stuff."
"Nonsense, darling." Sombre said, again grabbing my hand. "You're not ready to settle down, and you're definitely not ready to bust out a couple of puppies. You just stick with me, and I'll change your mind pretty quickly. No need for that marriage bullshit. More great women have been lost to that then to war, though there isn't much difference. Now follow me."
I didn't ask any questions, not really caring to hear any more of that long-winded spiel. I grabbed Sombre's hand, and she didn't shake it away. I followed her through the house crowded with people. While settling down had been a dream of mine for a long time, I could easily get used to this party style. The people, the energy, the music. It was all great.
The person holding my hand wasn't too bad either...
________________________________________________________________________________Hello, hello, hello! I am back from the dead. I might die again for a couple of months, but I'll try not to.
Friends... I have a confession, one I'm sure won't sadden many people. I'm highly considering deleting this story. It's getting harder and harder to write, mostly because I don't really see it going anywhere. I might write a couple more chapters, but... we'll see. It's just not as fun to write anymore, and I don't see it really going anywhere.
Anyways... I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and as always, vote and comment. I love you guys so much, and thank you so much for reading. Until next time...
