Breaking The News

Harrys POV

I was having a really shitty day so far. I'd rather be home with my girls.

While sitting in a meeting my phone vibrated. I looked at it and saw it was Leah so I sighed and picked it up.

'Yeah'? I said.

'Harry you need to come to the hospital rigt now', she said. I could tell she was crying.

'Now? What happened?', I asked.

'Just come. We're up in the pediatric section', she said and hung up.

I grumbled in frustration and dismissed myself.

I made the short drive to the hospital and hurried up to find them. 

When I walked into the waiting room I saw Rhea with Leah, peacefully playing with blocks on one side of the waiting room. Then I saw Jennifer...

She was sitting on the far side of the room, biting her nails, crying and slightly rocking back and forth in her chair.

She spotted me as I walked up slowly and jumped up and threw herself in my arms and sobbed into my chest.

'Jenny.. baby, what's going on?', I asked as I held her.

She just cried harder.

Leah walked over with Rhea.

'I... I don't want her to s..see me this way.. take her out', Jen said to Leah, and she walked out with Rhea.

'Jennifer.. honey talk to me', I coaxed as I rubbed her back.

'Rhea... she has Leukemia.. cancer Harry', She cried.

I felt confused... but it also felt like I got punched in the face. It was so saddening.

I just held Jen tighter.

'I feel like my heart got ripped out of my chest Harry! What are wegonna do', she sobbed.

'Let's start by sitting down', I said and led her to a couch.

We sat and she laid her head against me and I put my arms around her. 

She just nuzzled her face into my chest and cried.

'Jenny?', I asked.

'Hmm', she replied.

'Baby... we have to be strong. she needs our love no matter what. We can't turn into different people because she's too little to understand. Especially you mama.. She's been attached to you since the beginning. Shes needs her amazing mommy to be the same. You can cry all you want and take out the pain and frustration as much as you need, just not around her. Okay baby'? I said.

'Ok.. I know', she replied.

'Jennifer?', I said.

She looked up at me.

'I forgot to say.. I love you baby', I said.

She snuggled against my chest.

'I love you too', she replied.

God help us....
