Finally making it into the city my heart skipped a beat seeing all the factions intermingled. Across the street, there were some erudites talking to an abnegation boy.

Ahead of me, there was a small circle starting to form. Excitedly I began to jog over to get a better look.

I maneuvered my way through the small crowd when voices caught my attention.

"you know you're worthless right?" A boy wearing blue snidely remarked at a younger amity.

I know the girl he's talking to she's only 13.

"She's pathetic too, hasn't even said a word." A candor girl with jet black hair joins in on the torment.

It was enough to push me through the crowd. "Leave her alone!"
I commanded.

The girl side-eyed me " well look at this an amity with a loud mouth that's new."
She turned facing me and proceeded with a " bad attitude, looks ugly, too short."

The erudite boy was paying attention too now. Thankfully this gave the little girl a chance to escape and like dust in the wind, she was gone.

" No one has or will ever love you." He joined in. They began to circle me, waiting for their opportunity to strike.

"That's enough!" A man's voice from further behind me broke the crowd. Many began to scurry away, even the bullies tried to run. but were blocked by two dauntless soldiers.

That's when the man who had spoken stepped beside me looking over the three of us.

He was very tall compared to the others and built like a train. There were tattoos on his neck as well as a piercing above his brow on the right side.

But nothing was more attention-grabbing than his eyes. It was as if someone had carved them from ice and put the heat of the sun in them.

You couldn't really tell if they burned with rage or were icy from a lack of sympathy.

"Sasha, Xander, take those two, question them separately." He ordered and the soldiers obliged with no hesitation.

" Amity." Addressing me I lock eyes with him he may be stronger than me but if I want to be in dauntless I need to show strength now.

"Sir." My response was flat and level.
I wanted to seem like I had the situation under control and that I was someone to be taken seriously. Not just some small amity girl.

He looked me over as if he were trying to place me like he couldn't understand why I wasn't passive and smiley.

I noticed that he let out a breath before questioning me "what is your involvement with what happened here?"

Answering truthfully but not saying everything "I saw someone being bullied and I stopped it."

"Really, that's pretty brave, for an amity that is." He was really starting to piss me off I had things to do and I don't need his judgment of my faction.

"Alight go do whatever it was you were doing." With that he curtly marched off to I guess interrogate the bullies

Looking at my watch I realized I needed to start running, NOW.

With my boots pounding as fast as my heart, I was able to make it into the building before the Candor leader left, I think his name is Jack Kang.

Making my way across the huge room I admired the tall cement pillars and clean granite floors. All the plaques stuck out against the stark white walls since they were a dark black.

At the receptionist's desk, I let him know who I am and why I'm here, glancing at me with suspicion he asks me to take a seat he rings for Mr. Kang

Plopping down on the chair it Dawn's on me, I have no idea what this guy looks like. I've never met him and he was never described to me.

That's when I'm pulled from my thought by a kind "Hello" looking up I see a man who if I didn't know better was created by a weapons forger.

Everything about him was sharp, from the finely tailored suit to the raised cheekbones and narrowed eyes.

Smiling warmly he began. "Miss Keague, we've been expecting you. Hopefully, the walk here wasn't too difficult."

Chuckling I think about what happened only a few minutes ago. "Yeah it was pretty nice overall, I have the files you need to get to the truth."

There was a gleam in his eye, "thank you for delivering these I'll take them to the courtroom now." He offered with an outstretched hand.

"Oh, sure thing, here." Handing over the papers he thanked me and quickly turned on a heel. After walking home it was already near sunset I plopped down in my bed and listened to the trees in the wind.
