Kill Em With Kindness

It was a normal day, as long as you ignore the fact that it wasn't

On the walk back I was quite saying that the walk back I was noticeably quiet "is everything alright hun?"

She watched to make sure I was ok "yeah the test just wore me out a bit."

She squinted knowing I could never really lie to her "what was your result?"

I didn't want to lie to her but I knew I had no other choice "I was dauntless.... and candor, and erudite."

She didn't say anything for a while. We walked in silence for some time when mama put her arm in front of me signaling me to stop and be still

A mother doe walked in front of us with a perfectly white fawn following behind her their fur glistening in the sunlight.

After they had gone mama told me "you see Riley you're just like that fawn, you are one of a kind."

Warmth filled the places where I had felt panicked. "You're the only person I wanted to know mama... no one else needs to."

She nodded solemnly adding that "be smart Riley if others find out they will kill you."

Once we make it back to the amity I head to the food court to enjoy a small meal and mull things over.

So I'm divergent, which means I fit in more than one faction. My three are candor erudite and dauntless. How the hell do I decide where I belong?

Getting up briskly to throw away my trash I decided to go for a ride back to the city I was sick and tired of being here and I needed space to deal with all this mess.

I love to ride horses, specifically Amando a gorgeous full white male horse. Sliding open the hefty barn door I approach him "hey boy, how are you doing " I coo holding the sides of his face in my hands.

I leave a note for joe to let her know I was taking him for a ride. With that, I saddle up and ride into town.

Trotting down the path Amando whinnied gleefully. We rode like this for a while when Amando slowed to a walk then a complete stop.

I was puzzled and started to look around. It took me a minute to see a baby fawn curled up in the grass near its mother it was the same white fawn from before.

My heart swelled seeing how peacefully they were sleeping. I took this as a good omen that something wonderful would happen.

After the short ride into town, I tie Amando to a post and walk through an open market to try to distance myself from the thoughts that keep plaguing me.

Glancing at the shops I purchase some fruit and continue my way down the aisles getting to see all of the different colorful sites listening to all the exciting sounds really calms and relaxes me I feel at home in a place like this.

Suddenly someone clasped there hand on my shoulder turning to look at who it was. what I came face to face with the dauntless boy I met.

I think his name is Tore. "Hi, you're the girl from the testing right?" His question was honesty and kind he wasn't trying to make an issue.

"Yeah, you're tore right?" I asked curious to see if I was right. "Hey, nice job remembering my name. I believe you said Riley was your name."

I nodded "so what did you get for your results?" That was the one question I wish wasn't so important but you know what I can decide for myself where I go.

"Dauntless" it wasn't a lie it just wasn't the only true answer as long as I continue to believe I'm only dauntless I'll make it through this.

"Hey me too!" His voice bursting with excitement "you know what let me buy you a lil 'welcome to the faction' gift."
