Chapter 4: Change Tactics

This past week had been hell for me... and the devil responsible for that is none other than famewhore Wang HeDi.

Why can't he just leave me alone? What have I ever done to him to put me in this position?

Just hours after that fateful invitation for a date... my otherwise peaceful world had been turned upside down. My name which was once unknown, had trended on MingDe's media board... which was my nightmare coming to life...

Overtime.... I had been the focus of everyone's attention everywhere I go... at the cafeteria... the library... the corridors... I could hear students whispering all around me..

"The nerve of that girl to refuse Wang HeDi..."

"She's so lucky HeDi's showering her with attention..."

"What did HeDi saw in her??? She's not even pretty to begin with..."

I could hear them whisper.. as I pass them by... and to be quite honest... I have been asking those questions to myself too...

Why would certified playboy Wang Hedi waste his time in trying to get a date with me...

I am not pretty...
I am not popular...
I am not fashionable enough...
I am too short for his liking...
and...
I am too boring for his taste...

So why is he trying to drag me with him into the limelight?
I am really starting to hate him for it.

The handsome spawn of the devil seem to come up with different ways to torture me by continously bringing me into the spotlight...

The day after the incident... after his  team won over GuangZhou University... He again asked me out through a banner with the message...

flashing on all electronic billboards through out the campus every after the congratulatory message to the university's varsity basketball team.

The day after that... my Film professor   Mr. Yan asked me in his sternest tone to clean up the sea of rose petals inside our classroom including the writings on the board with my name written grafitti style in yellow bold letters and the message...

" You can't avoid me forever... please... I beg you... go out on a date with me..." - Wang HeDi

Not to mention all those red roses I would always found stuck in my locker with a heart shaped sticky note saying either "Enjoy your day!"... "Keep Smiling 😊"... or "See you around.. JaiYou! ❤️" which in fact I do find cute and had made me a little giddy... but each time I would notice evey girl in the corridor throwing me their piercing glares... makes me want to run for the hills and hide in a cave where no one would find me.

But it seems like Wang HeDi is still not through with his antics...

I was running late for my first class today when I was stopped... shocked... as I stared at a huge banner hanging on the wall of the University's Main Hall with the message...

"Shen Yue... Stop running away... run into my arms instead. ✋🚫 🏃❤️"

Then the booming voice of the culprit echoed in every speaker in MingDe...

"Shen Yue... aren't you tired of avoiding me?.... You can run away as much as you want.. but you can never hide from me... I like you so much that even if you run to Mars... I will follow you there..."
