Twenty six hours later, they saw light. It was a faint red light. Few minutes after the light emerged, the jet landed.
The twins, who had been holding each other tight, let go and looked around, the place was empty.
"Could... Could this be the underworld?" Irene stammered.
"We're in the jet, it can't be the underworld"
"Should we get down?"
"Yea, let's find out where we are" he said and opened the door. A cool breeze swept across his face as he stepped out. Irene followed suit.
She looked down, they were standing on a dry rocky floor. She looked up, she could still see the hole they fell through.
"Could we really be in the Bermuda triangle? Stories have it that everyone who's ever been dragged into the triangle, never came out"
"Stop panicking Irene, let's find help" he said and dragged her along.
They walked for what seemed like an entire hour then stopped.
"Its like we're just moving in circles"
"Exactly. And the place looks so neat, like no one's ever been here" Irene added
"If it really is the underworld, I bet scores of people died before us"
"And if it is the triangle, surely people fell in before us.This is so frustrating, I should have listened to you and stopped the plane"
"This isn't time to blame yourself Irene, we need to find a way outta here. Why don't we rest for awhile" he said and sat down.
Irene stared at him
"What?"
"Right now, I can't even think clearly, how can you be sitting?"
"So what should I do, as it is, we're lost. We need to rest if we'll keep walking"
"Well, you do have a point" she said as she took off her jacket. She tied it around her waist and sat next to him.
"So, what do we do now?" she asked
"Um, let's talk about you"
"You've known me all your life Ivan, what's there to talk about?"
"I've wanted to have this conversation with you for a while. Why are you so carefree?"
"Here we go" she said rolling her big blue eyes.
"Really, you know.."
"Its my nature, I don't like to stress myself" she cut in.
