"I guess your death is drawing closer"
"What the hell do you mean by that?"
Ivan glared at the boy
"This is the actual appearance of the triangle, the neat rocky floor was an illusion. The mermaids let you..."
"Hold on, why do you know all this?" Asked Irene
"I've been here for a while, I've watched a lot of people and animals, die"
"Die" she repeated
"I fell in with my puppy, he's dead too. There were over 90 passengers aboard, I'm the only survivor"
"Then why are you still alive, they don't eat kids?"
"Oh they especially love to eat kids, they just don't know I'm here"
"But you said they see everywhere in the triangle"
"Yea. Driz helps me"
"Who's Driz?" They asked in unison
"The mermaid's daughter"
"You've got to be kidding me"
"Driz isn't like her mother, she's very kind"
"You know what, enough of this talk about mermaids. How do we get out of here?"
"Well, I don't mean to be a spoil sport miss but, there's no way out of here. Driz and I have gone around the entire triangle severally, there's no exit. Unless you can fly through the hole you fell in"
"And this Driz, she can't help us out?"
"I'm afraid not"
"So what are we supposed to do! Just sit and wait until we die?"
"You need to calm down Irene, she could hear you" said a tiny female voice behind them.
Dash hurried off and hugged her. The twins turned and facing them, was the most beautiful mermaid. She had very long black hair which covered her bare upper body. Her eyes were a deep blue, the entire eye. There was no way to differentiate the parts. And her black shiny tail seemed to have a cut.
"You must be Driz" said Irene, the mermaid nodded.
"How'd you know my name?"
"I learn a lot about a person just by looking"
"Bummer"
"I can't help you get out of here, I don't have the power to" she said to Ivan, he scoffed.
"You heard my thoughts?"
"Well, its just something I can do. My mother and her friend already know you're in here so I can't exactly do anything for you"
"Wow, why does it feel like you just told us we're definitely gonna die?"
"Because she did" Irene sighed.
