PoV: Knuckles The Echidna

  He was standing over the rubble, Eggman had already taken off in anger. We won another battle thanks to Sonic. It wasn't that Eggman's robots were difficult to destroy, Sonic just handled it faster than anyone else ever could. I remember only thinking of his as a thief when we first met. I thought he had stolen the emeralds. Considering that he knew nothing about them and can harness their power so easily, it wasn't a doubt in my mind that he was someone incredible.

  The blue hedgehog smiling in front of me, dirt on his face from the fight. He was the kindest person on this planet, and even if you crossed him he forgave you. I would know, Eggman has tricked me into fighting him so many times and he still welcomes me back with that soft smile and warm hand.

"The battle was a little messy today, wasn't it?" He grinned. This adorable idiot has gotten hit in the face with one of the motor bugs' exhaust pipes. Now he was covered in black filth.

"Sonic you need a bath," Tails laughed as he wiped Sonic's cheek witha tissue. Tails was the closest to him of anyone, he knew any detail you asked him about Sonic. He was the one I needed to rely on.

"Definitely. Those robots made me smell like gasoline," he laughed as he smelt his own fur.

"Knuckles, you gonna head home?" He asked, pulling me from my gaze.

"I'll hang out at your place for a while," I replied.

"Alright. Mighty, Ray, how about you guys?" They had here the entire battle. I had to listen Mighty call Sonic's name anytime he destroyed a robot. Sonic, of course, told him he was doing a good job. Sonic was just too kind to tell anyone they were annoying.

"I was-"

"We can hang out too!" Ray shouted, his usually energy lead him to cutting off Mighty's sentence.

"Sure," Sonic jumped off the rubble and started walking, "Were gonna go wash up. We can find something to do."

"Sounds good," Ray cheered as Sonic left.

  Sonic did exactly what he said he was going to when we all got to his place. He took a shower and came back down with slightly damp fur. I simply had to wait for the right time now. Sonic was laughing and talking with all of us. I was used to it, it had been this for a long time already. I kept an eye on him from a distance, it was all I could do right now.

  Sonic fell asleep on the couch around nine. It wasn't late at night, but he did have to fight today.

"Mighty, Ray, you two should head home," Tails laid a blanket over Sonic.

"I could carry him to bed if you want," Mighty offered.

"It's okay. Knuckles can do it. You two should head home before it gets too late," Tails waved them off as they finally left.

"I should get going too," I got up and started walking to the door.

"You should carry Sonic to bed. His neck always hurts when he falls sleep on the couch by mistake," Tails pulled me over to Sonic.

"Just for tonight," I carefully lifted Sonic off the couch and he groaned in his sleep. I carried him upstairs and laid him down in his own bed.

"Mm~ chillidogs..." he was drooling in his sleep.

"You kept dreaming about food and you'll wake up hungry," I wiped the drool off his lips. The soft feeling they had, this entire situation was look but don't touch.

  I walked back down stairs and Tails was waiting for me.

"You like him, don't you," Tails put the dishes into the sink and left them for the next morning.

"Yeah... you figured it out already huh," I should have known Tails already knew.

"I think I can help you," Tails smiled.

"You think so?" I was ready to try anything to get Sonic's attention now.

"Yeah, we just need to worry about Amy."

"Right."

  What ever Tails has in mind, I was ready for.

I'm tired so Imma sleep for now.
