Chapter 10

PoV: Knuckles

"Hey, look where you are. No small spaces here," I was trying to get Sonic to uncurl at the moment. I just had to sit here a pet him for a while, he'd eventually calm down.

  If Eggman ever found out about this weakness he'd abuse it.

  For now, I had removed the rope bridge connecting angle island to the ground under us. I didn't want anyone other than Tails and the others coming up here. It took a while but Sonic eventually uncurled and sat up. His defenses were still high so I had to keep the oven mitts on.

"... Sorry..." his eyes were teary and his face was red. He was holding back the urge to cry.

"That scared you didn't it," I pulled him in for a hug. "Don't worry about it. You're on angle island now. You have lots of space to run around."

  His quills were stabbing my chest and arms as I held him. It hurts... I think I'm the one who needs bandages right now.

"Thanks..." he nuzzled against me.

"Sonic... your quills..." I couldn't take the pain anymore. He was going to peice my skin.

"I'm sorry!" He pulled himself away from me, "Does it hurt?"

"Not too much. Kinda like holding a cactus," I realized the look of deviation on his face. My comment was too much!

"I'm sorry..." he backed away from me.

"Its fine. It doesn't even hurt anymore," I grabbed him.

"It doesn't?" His quills were starting to look soft again.

"Take a breath and relax," I pulled him close, "There we go, nice a soft," his quills relaxed and I could hold him properly again, "Better?"

"Yeah..." he was calm again.

"Sonic..." he was sitting on my lap without realizing. This situation couldn't be more perfect.

"Yes?" He looked up at me.

"How's the pain in your arm?" I couldn't say it...

"Its not to bad..." he looked away. So it hurts.

"Really?" I grabbed his arm gently. He let out a wince and covered his mouth. His face was completely red, "It hurts doesn't it."

"N-No... I don't know what you're talking about..." I had the dumbest idea to get him flustered in this exact moment.

  I lifted his chin and made him look into my eyes, "You know better than to lie to me."

  His body went stiff and his face steamed with blush. He was poking me again. It was the first time I had seen him this way.

  I think I'll enjoy this personal time with him.
 
  
PoV: Sonic

  W-what was that?! Knuckles doesn't say stuff like that! Is he messing with me?!

"C-Can I go for a run?" I got up.

"After I rebandage your arm. Its bleeding," he placed me on top of the master emerald, "Stay there. I'll go get some bandages."

"O-okay..." My body feels kinda warm... maybe I should take a nap, I want to avoid a fever if I can.

"You know better that to lie to me."

  My face felt so hot... Maybe I do have a fever...

PoV: Mighty

  I was stuck cleaning rubble while Knuckles was getting close and personal with Sonic. My mind couldn't relax.

  What are they doing... I hate not being able to keep an eye on Sonic!

A walk? Talking? What if he's giving Sonic a bath! That bastard!!!

"I'll never forgive you..." I snapped the broom in my hand.

"Is he talking about Eggman?" I heard Amy whisper behind me.

"Who knows," Ray was glaring at me.

   I turned away and kept cleaning. Tails walked by me and stopped. He gave me a smug smile and kept walking. That brat! It was his plan all along!

  I'll get you back to this. Sonic will be alone with me next! I swear!
