i get up from my couch after the ring of the doorbell rings throughout the whole house , i open the door to the cutest friends. i see alvaro and kairi with brownies , popcorn , my favorite ben and jerry's ice cream , and a liter of fruit punch. i smile and open the door wider , they go into my kitchen and put all the stuff down. i sit on the kitchen and island and look at them.

"why are you really here?" i ask with a serious face , kairi makes an offended face and dramatically puts his hand on his chest like he is getting a heart attack and alvaro just looks at him shaking his head

"can't i just visit my dear friend that said to square up and that disney+ will be included in the comments of her very own tiktok" kairi says while fake tearing up and wiping a non-existent tear , i giggle at his stupid actions

"sure but why bring all this stuff?"

"because it's to take your mind off of what we're really for" alvaro says innocently , kairi smacks the back of his head and sighs

"i knew it , what are you two lovable idiots hiding"

"why did you say no to ale yesterday?" kairi ask quickly , but enough for me to understand. i sigh and look at the ground

"i can't let him back in that quickly kai. he hurt me bad , multiple times and for me to forgive him and act like i can forget that pain so fast isn't good for me. yes i love him and i want to be with him but i need time. and it was only our first date and for him to ask me out was fast you know? we may have mutual feelings for each other but we can't just act like my pain didn't happen , you both saw what i went through i almost fucking committed suicide because of how much pain i felt. i just can't let him get away with that's so fast" i wipe a tear and let out a shaky breath , i look up and see kairi nod , i watch as alvaro walks up to me and wraps his arms around me with a small squeeze

"it's okay , i may not get what you are going through. and i may never get it but i do understand that you need to take your time to heal and i respect that" kairi says with a smile , i send him a smile back

"so are we gonna watch lilo and stitch or are we just gonna stay here?" i ask while grabbing most of the food , alvaro smiles and grabs the rest of the food while walking upstairs

i check my phone for the time sneakily while kairi and alvaro are sleeping

hey i know it's like 4 in the morning and your most likely asleep with alvaro and kairi after watching disney+ but i just wanted to let you know that i'm waiting and i'll wait for as long as it takes. i know i said that before but i mean it , i know you need time to recover and to heal from the pain i have caused you but i love you and if that means waiting for weeks , months , or even years. i will , i hope you had a good nights sleep princess </3

but where are we gonna go it's 4am almost nothing is open

i slip on a pair of shoes and take a final glance in the mirror , i look behind myself and see kairi sit up

"where are you going it's 4am"

"to a diner with ale , i'll be back before 8 or 9am"

"okay use protection" kairi says as he goes back to sleep , i roll my eyes at his dumb joke with a smile and walk downstairs quietly , i open the front door and see ale in his car with the window rolled down , he looks up at me and smiles. he looks so tired, i hop into his car and smile at him

"are you sure you wanna go you look tired ale" i say worried

"yes , now where is this amazing diner"

we walk into the diner and sit in one of the booths , i grab the menu and hand the second one to ale. i see one of the people i always see working here and she comes up to our table

"welcome to quinn's diner , how may i serve you today? oh hey rachel"

"hey wendy , how are the kids?"

"oh there great little martha has grown so much since you last saw her"

"aww that's great maybe i can babysit her one day"

"yes you will be the first person i call but until then what can i get for you and your little boy toy"

"oh we're not-"

"i'll take a strawberry/chocolate shake like always and the regular bacon fries with cheese" i say while i interrupt ale , ale looks surprised that i didn't deny wendy's comment

"um i'll have what she's having" ale says still in shock

"bernie two of the rachel specials" wendy yells as she leaves our table , i laugh

"you didn't deny it"

"relax , she was just joking. plus you are kinda like my boy toy" i say with a chuckle and a wink
