It was all a blur. One minute Jungkook was laughing happily with his friend, he felt light, and he was finally okay.
And the next he is being plunged back into the waters of his past.
Taehyung. He was alive. His heart was beating, and he was smiling and laughing. Without Jungkook. And that was something he would have to live with.
But how could he live with that? How was he supposed to be a okay with knowing that?
Was the letter all a lie? Was every kiss a lie? Every word, every touch?
No. No, Jungkook couldn't accept that. There had to be a reason. There had to be an explanation for what Taehyung did. For faking his death. For not contacting any of them.
He had a good reason. Right? Jeongguk didn't know. And maybe that's why he was where he was now. On the roof of his hotel, sitting on the ledge.
He looked at the city around him. He watched the hustle and bustle of the city, how people ran in front of traffic to get to their destination faster. He watched how the sun was setting now, how it set a hue of coral oranges and reds across the blue sky.
It had been three hours since he had seen Taehyung. Two hours of freaking the fuck out, and one of thinking.
Everything was so confusing now. It used to be so simple. Get in, get the money, kill the witnesses, get out. Simple. But now—it was like he couldn't even define the word simple anymore. It was like simple wasn't even in his vocabulary.
His axis had did a full one-eighty, and he could do nothing to stop it. He just had to sit and watch as his life—his security—was stripped away from him. Stolen so carelessly by the cruel world he lived in.
At first he blamed himself. At first, he thought that everything that was happening to him was his fault. That he caused it—although, now, he wasn't sure if it was his fault anymore.
Because, Jungkook knew that at some point, you have to stop blaming yourself for others actions. At some point, you have to accept that you did all you could, and what happens after that...well that's up to the universe to decide.
Sometimes it's easier to blame others too. Sometimes it's easier to say that you did nothing wrong. But Jungkook knew, at this point, the shit that has happened to him isn't him.
His parents chose to give him up. TeoJan chose to abuse him. Wonwoo chose to not do anything.
Taehyung chose to fake his death. And whatever bullshit, crazy reason he had for doing that was his doing. He did that.
And as Jungkook sat on the ledge of the sixty floored hotel building, feeling the cool early spring air weave past him—Jungkook finally accepted that for once, he wasn't the problem.
That for once, he wasn't going to do anything to himself. For once he wasn't going to blame himself and try ending his life. Because, damnit, he had things to live for.
He had friends who cared, a good, high paying job, and for once—he was okay with not being totally okay.
He was going to love through this. And he was going to be okay. With or without Taehyung by his side.

Sorry it was a short chapter :( But I just wanted to let you see his realization, give you some closure and stability...so you don't die of angst next chapter haha.
What do you think Taehyung's reasoning was for faking his death? Do you think he will look for Jungkook or leave him again? Do you think Jungkook will leave be for Taekook talks to each other?
I hope you enjoyed!!
