Let's get back on track, shall we?

If you don't like smoking, then sorry. But this chapter has an important detail in it...so, just skip the paragraphs where he talks about smoking? Idk.

Xoxo,
Enjoy!

"So this is it? You're just leaving?" HyeJin said softly, tone saddened and heavy with something Jungkook couldn't quite pinpoint.

"Yes." A simple, straight forward answer. It should have been easier to say than it was. But, of course, he hid that feeling well.

Be as cold as ice. A statement that played over and over in Jungkook's head as he stood by the taxi. The driver put his luggage in the back and MoonByul and HyeJin stood there with him.

"You didn't even hear him out. And you're just leaving?" MoonByul pressed, a bit harsher than her girlfriend. The two women stood hand in hand, fingers intertwined, as they stood in front of their friend.

They looked comfortable, and safe. Their hands tying them together in the pitch-perfect pair. Almost complete opposites, but accenting each other's best features exquisitely.

And even when they stood in the gloomy weather of New York City, with horribly blaring  car horns, and more-than-needed bustle in the back ground, they seemed to be completely zen. Whole with one another. Just by the simple act of holding hands.

It was times like this that Jungkook felt the harsh reality of being single. It had been about two years since he last had any lips touch his. Any intimate touch of another human against his skin.

And the feeling was starting to get dreadful.

Jungkook stuck his hands in his coat jacket. He felt the pack of cigarettes he kept in the pocket against his hand when he did. He didn't smoke often, but after Taehyung 'died', the small habits from being in the gang industry became automatic coping mechanisms.

Like smoking. He used to do it a bit when he was stressed, but stopped when he first met Taehyung. After the latter supposedly 'died', he picked it up again.

And to say he was stressed as of now, would be a understatement.

"I didn't. And yes I am." Jungkook exhaled, watching the fog of his breath fade into the atmosphere. It was cold and muggy this morning, even though it was March.

He supposed even the sky was having a bad day.

"I don't care for his excuses and—well, to be completely honest, seeing him is one of the hardest things to endure. And I used to watch people be tortured." Jungkook deadpanned. Fingers itching to take the pack of cancer-sticks out of his pocket and light one.

He liked the burn of the smoke in his throat. The way that it reminded him of the bitterness of the world. He liked the way the grey smoke flooded from his mouth, whirling in the air, and fades away into the distance.

He didn't care if it would kill him. It is calming and he likes it.

What happened to having things to live for Jungkook? Jungoook thought to himself. He guessed he had moments where he had things to live for. Where he saw that life is worth living. But, he also had moments where he didn't think it was. Where he didn't care if he died.

He just did what felt right to him. Even if it wasn't moral.

MoonByul sighed. "But you could make up. He's here now...you don't have to be together. I mean—you can't be together-" MoonByul stooped.

"What do you mean we 'can't be together'?" Jungkook interrupted, eyes narrowing in confusion.

MoonByul's eyes widened softly, and there was silence between the three. HyeJin pressed her lips into a thin line and looked at her girlfriend. They both looked uncertain, but HyeJin sighed when she saw Jungkook's doe eyed expecting look. One that no one could turn down.

"W-Well..." HyeJin choked out. "I don't think we should tell you. I think that he should be the one to tell you about his life. It's not our place."

Jungkook glares in confusion, but before he could say anything, the taxi driver called out for him to get in the car.

"I-I have to go." Jungkook's pink tongue flicked across his bottom lip, sighing softly. The two women nodded wearily and hugged him. The three held each other, letting the embrace linger, before letting go.

Jungkook gave them a small, bittersweet smile, before bidding his farewell, and getting into the back of the taxicab.

The car pulled way, darting into the awfully annoying traffic of New York City, and HyeJin let out a sigh.

"We can't tell him that Taehyung is with someone." The younger woman bit her bottom lip.

MoonByul nodded sadly, both watching the cab holding their friend speed away. "It would crush him. He thinks we can't see his hurt. I just wish he would let us help." The older tsk'ed.

"All we can do is be here for him when he finds out the truth." HyeJin squeezed her girlfriends hand, facing her.

The older smiled softly, rising her free hand to cup HyeJin's cold, pink cheek. "I love you."

HyeJin giggled. "I love you too, Moonie."

The two laid a small, quick kiss on each other's lips, before deciding to head back to their next destination.

Taehyung's Café.

Okay so short-ish chapter. But has a big shocker in it.

> Who do you think Taehyung is dating?
> How do you think Jungoo will react when he finds out Taehyung is with someone?
> Do you think he will find out on his own or on accident?

I hope you enjoyed!!!
