~Warning, degrading words are present in this chapter. You don't like that, try to ignore it.~
*Two weeks later~two days until the dance*The one thing I envied about the living was the Beach Dance. That was supposed to be the night when Ryan and I officially told my parents. I mean they knew but we had never actually told them. I would miss choosing a dress and actually dancing on the beach-feeling the sand beneath my feet, touching Ryan's hands, feeling his kisses. But it doesn't matter anymore, that life was ripped away from me.
___________________________________________________________________The dance was in two days time and everybody was busy with something. Annabeth and the dance comity were busy printing and designing posters, getting the word out there. Ryan, Jack and Austyn were busy figuring out who to ask. Jack and Austyn were finding it difficult to find a girl who hadn't already been asked and Ryan was finding it difficult to ask a girl after me. For whatever reason, Ryan was ignoring any feelings he felt for someone as he thought that would be betraying me. The rest of the girls have been trying to find a dress as well as a date.
Danielle wasn't sure if she should ask her crush-Callum. Cal, as he was more commonly known, wasn't an athlete but he was kind. She just couldn't force the words out. Jordan was back with her on/off boyfriend so it was no wonder who she was going with. Poor Aliyah, didn't even have a crush let alone a boyfriend. We normally went as a three, as Ali and Ry were friends. But obviously that can't happen this year.
It was lunch time when Annabeth met up with the group. "Hey Annabeth." They all greeted.
"Hey guys, you all going to the dance?" She asked openly.
"Of course." They all chorused back.
"Great, Ali, Danny and Jordan can you help me go dress shopping?" Annabeth asked.
"At harbour town." Danny replied as the four girls got into a discussion about what shops and when they would go. The two boys decided to go find Jack and his friends.Jack was sitting with the soccer team, minus Ryan. "Hey Ryan, you coming to practise tonight?" One of the guys-Jed-called out.
"You couldn't keep me away." Ryan laughed. He felt good to be back with the team. He had taken a break after my death. "Anyway, have you guys got dates?" Austyn asked.
"Duh, my girlfriend." Jack said before the team started laughing.
"Girlfriend? You mean personal slut." Jed remarked.
"Oh whatever. Have you got a date, Jed?" Jack teased.
"Not yet, but-" Jed broke off as he caught sight that his crush was leaving the cafeteria.Ali was walking in front next to Annabeth with Danny and Jordan trailing behind. Jed ran to catch up with Annabeth, Jordan, Danny and Ali. "Aliyah? Can I talk to you for a second?" Jed asked politely. Ali gave a quick nod before following Jed to a secluded area. "I was wondering if you knew, who Annabeth was going to the dance with?" Jed asked, a smirk playing on his face.
"Um, probably Ryan. If he even asks. Why?" She replied not catching the smirk.
"Oh, I was just wondering if we could go as a double date?" Jed said.
"Double date?" Ali choked out.
"Oh gosh, this isn't going well." Jed murmured as he brushed his hand through his hair. "Ummm, Aliyah, would you like to go to the dance with me?" Jed managed to spit out.
"Oh, um, sure." She giggled a bit.
"I'll pick you up at...?"
"Well the dance starts at 7pm, so 6:45pm?"
"Perfect. So you there, gorgeous." Jed called as he jogged back to his mates.*After school*
Ali and Annabeth stood outside the front of the school waiting for Danny and Jordan. They were just talking about random stuff when they finally came. "Okay, so we need to catch the 105 to Harbour Town." Jordan said as she got level with the other two.
"Right." They both said in unison before giggling. The four of them headed to the bus stop, two minutes before the bus came. When they reached Harbour town, they all headed straight for 'Ally'. Annabeth, Ali, Danny and Jordan were excited to see that it wasn't really busy. The four girls were trying on any dress they liked. Aliyah tried on a purple dress. It was a shine lace strapless, thigh-length dress. The colour suited her perfectly and it looked amazing on her.
Jordan found a dress that was cream and orange. It had a cream, lace collared singlet shirt with an orange polka dotted skirt. Round her waist sat a tan leather belt and the dress finished at her mid thighs. It looked stunning, considering that was Jordan's style.
Annabeth tired on a midnight blue dress. It was short, tiered with spaghetti straps and a sweetheart neckline. It looked gorgeous on her. It showed her slim waist and her chest with the right amount of exposure without looking slutty.
Danny finally found the right dress for her. It was a red retro vintage dress. It had a bit of gathered layering around the circle neckline, tight without being too tight around the chest and fell out nicely from her waist. She looked really pretty.
After the girls had found their dresses they needed masks. But decided to stop for some afternoon tea. They went to the Coffee Club for a piece of cake and a smoothie each. Ali and Annabeth both got mango smoothies, Danny ordered a strawberry smoothie and Jordan had a banana smoothie.
Later on Aliyah, Danny, Jordan and Annabeth were trying on masks downtown. Danny found her mask first. It was a simple red rhinestone mask with red ribbon to tie it on. On the left side it had a few red feathers.
Ali saw a purple and silver mask that resembled a butterfly. It came with just a simple elastic string to tie on but it was beautiful on Ali.
Jordan ended up buying a pale orange mask with white embroidery and darker orange embroidery around the eyes. It had a pale orange ribbon to tie back with.
Annabeth finally found a mask to work with her dress. It was a midnight blue mask with nice edging with went further than the edge of her face. The top of the mask formed a mini tiara and it had silver ribbon to tie it back. It was beautiful.
When the girls were walking out of the shop, Annabeth's phone dinged, signalling she got a text.
'Hey Annabeth, Come 2 the d@nce with me?
-R Danger'
