Chapter 3

  Beep! Beep! Beep!

I sleepily groped for my phone, trying to turn the stupid thing off.

Finally turning it off, I sat up in my bed, ignoring the throbbing pain in my back, I got ready for the school day.

I threw on mostly clean clothes, clearly we needed a launy day, my leg and grabbed my backpack off the floor and headed down the hall to go wake up my siblings.

I gently woke up Belarus who didn't want to get up. I knew she got extra tired when she was stressed, and after last night…

Kazakhstan got himself up, he was such a morning person. I didn't understand how people could just wake up early, but it meant less work on my part in the mornings.

  Ukraine was the worst.

If he could sleep in, he was fine to wake up, but getting him up early for school… well that was a different story.

"Uke…. We have school today…" I said, shaking him. "Come on we do this every morning…"

He groaned and rolled over, away from me.

"Canada is going to be at school and you can pine after him and dream about his soft, syrupy, Canadian lips." I smirked.

"Rus!" Ukraine huffed, rolling over and smacking me in the face with the pillow, glaring at me.

"Oh good. Now you're awake. Come on, grab something to eat and meet me in the car at ten." I said, walking out of the room.

I headed into the kitchen and scrounged around the pantry until I found three protein bars. I wasn't much, but it would hold them over for the morning.

I helped Bela and Kazi with their backpacks and sent them out to the car.

“Ukraine! Come on or were going to be late!” I called up the stairs.

“I'm coming.” He sighed, walking down the stairs and past me to the car.

I headed to my dad's office, I hoped he would be asleep.

I gently knocked and poked my head in.

“What is it Russia?” My father sighed, he seemed to be working on some papers.

“Just came to tell you we’re going to school now.” I replied.

“Alright but I want all of you back after school. No clubs. No activities. No friends. Understood?” He said, giving me a pointed look.

“Yes sir.” I said, pulling my head back out and closing the door.

I left the house and got into my car.

Well, it had been my mom's car actually. We’d never gotten rid of it and I didn't care to ask my dad for a new one.

It was a pretty quiet ride to drop off Belarus and Kazakhstan, I just always felt bad that I had to drop them so early.

Once I’d gotten them settled in at school, I finished my route to the highschool. It was a lot easier now that Ukraine was old enough to go to the same school as me. I used to have to drive him to middle school and miss part of the first block to do.

We got out of the car and headed into the building.

  “Ukraine!”

Both of our heads turned to see Canada waving happily to my little brother.
