. . .

So...  (  *//w//*)

I can't say that I'm proud of myself.

This February, plenty of people have been working on shipping stories and I kind of wanted to get on the shipping action. So, I started writing a DustBerry ship fan fiction. If you don't know what the DustBerry ship is, you don't need to worry about it, it's just one ship in the Undertale Multiverse fandom. I just think that the ship is adorable, having this bad boy falling in love with a cute little ball of energy. I haven't written anything on the ship itself yet, but I have written a prologue.

. . .

Dust was walking down the dark corridors of Nightmare's castle. Dust had been working for Nightmare for a while now, and he still didn't like his boss. But, Dust was confident that whatever assignment Nightmare gave him, he would easily complete. Dust entered the throne room where Nightmare was waiting, sitting on his throne. Instead of bowing, Dust stood before Nightmare. The skeletons that worked for Nightmare did fear him, but they didn't respect him.

"You wanted to see me, Boss?" Dust looked up at the black goo-covered skeleton.

"Yes," Nightmare stood up from his throne. "As you may know, I have been trying to recruit Error. But still, he refuses my offer."

"Are you going to try using force next?" Dust asked. If Nightmare wanted Dust to fight Error, he would be more than happy to do so.

"Not yet. I want to learn more about his weaknesses first. I won't get anything out of my brother or his friend, Ink. A while ago, Error held another Sans prisoner in his Anti-Void, and recently that Sans has been returned to his AU. For your mission, I'm sending you to that AU so that you can find out what this Sans knows about Error."

Dust was quiet for a moment, confused. Then he cried, "Seriously?! THAT'S my mission?!"

"Yes. I want you to gain his trust so that he will willingly give you the information we need. And that means no dusting in the AU. I have chosen you over Killer and Horror for this mission because I know that you have the patience to get close to this Sans without dusting anyone. So, are you up to the task?"

Dust rolled his shoulders and lit his eye, "It wouldn't be any fun if it wasn't a challenge. So, which AU are you sending me to?"

"Good. I'm sending you to Underswap to meet Blueberry."

Bonus:

As I was writing the prologue, I was thinking about what would happen when Nightmare was trying to recruit Error and how Error turns down the offer

As I was writing the prologue, I was thinking about what would happen when Nightmare was trying to recruit Error and how Error turns down the offer. So I sketched this little rough comic. To summarize for those who don't understand, Error creates a portal and leaves Nightmare in the Anti-Void, expecting Nightmare to be gone by the time he returns. Then, in the third panel, Ink excitedly tackles Error just before the portal disappears.
